  8. hey uru nice dogs! what part of the states are you in?
  9. i like the idea of the saluki, a dog that can run in desert climate, hard hot dry terrain. but in reality for me to put one into my line i would have to travel to the middle east watch one hunt and be game tested then and only then would i put one in, so not much chance of that. they should have higher heat tollerance anyway due to the fathers breed being hunted in hot climates although not as extreeme as the saluki. if one of the bitches suceed my expectations then alot of thought will go into the breeding ive got a few ideas but we will have to wait and see.
  10. this pup was my friends pick of litter, from a bitch he lined with his dog, hes a 10 year old dog and still does the business in his day was near impossible to beat! stats are about 26 inch, 80lb, huge head and buckskin in colour. bitch was 24.5inch 65lb, brindle ill ask for some pics but he keeps him self to himself and doesnt have the net a real hard dog man. should make someone a game bitch. the father can be viewed.
  11. hey guys it was a good trip! caught 5 hogs over friday night and saturday night i caught one and stuck it a -100lb young boar it was hard hunting due to the fact that the foods they eat are all spread out due to it being winter they reckon in grain season they can take 10 a night easy! i flew from gatwick to houston for £340 direct then a friend picked me up then we drove 3 1/2 hr to san antonio where we stayed with some more friends untill i left monday morning, the only downside was i caught flu from a poxy women behind me on the plain and have felt shit from saturday till now. im waiti

  16. i use the same buck knife has done me well on all quarry!
  17. i think you will be taking to much of a risk specially as you dont have the room to keep 3 or 4 pups back for awile to choose the best pup for the job, like any cross breed litter you will have pups turn out all different, one could be 27inch 80lb and another 22inch 55lb impossible to pic at 8 weeks i would say 6 month before you get a good idea at what your looking at, save the time, money, hassle, and get a pup you know is from top rabbiting parents and from lines you no will breed true to type then at least your half way there from the start, this is what i would do if in your possition.
  18. it all depends on what else you want them to run that will improve them on rabbits but will decrease there abilty on bigger game(if you run them), if you want a better rabit dog get a straight whippet or some other cross with out bull in it and breed your bitch when you need another big game dog, i think there would be better rabbit dogs than bull crosses out there for me i need an allrounder but if i needed one dog for one species it would be the most succsesfull x i go for and even then theres no garantee theyll be want you want
  19. the price of a dog all depends on the demand for it, and the amount of money the buyers have, its the same with everything i once saw a single garage in chelsea sell for £600,000 pounds for a feckin garage but that £600000 to him would be like £6000 to people like us a good dog can earn you a lot of money someone i know owned a racing greyhound that smashed a track record at a really young age he was offered £10,000 and he took it, which he thought was good but that dog went to the states won loads of races and made the new owner £1000s and £1000s in stud fees look at a dog like dro
  20. sorry about the theft mate i would cut their feckin eyes out, last night i had two punks wearing balaclarvers in my drive peering into my car at 2.30 in the morn went down for a drink and there they were how lucky was that! pussies jumped on bmx bikes and were gone before i even turned the key feckin junky scum, hope you get them back mate im in that area you stated so i'll keep my ears to the ground, i would recomend a better gaurd dog though i know some dogs that you could cut in half and they would still keep coming what breed was it ?
  21. for me single handed is when you go hunting with one dog and it nails the intended target over a period of cpl of seasons not even another dog on leash as it gives confidents, 1 man and his dog!
