  14. After being recommended tru-oil for finishing catties by "the gafer", I ordered some up and used it for the first time on a walnut catty I made, this was after only 2 coats, I really like the finish it leaves, and makes the grain stand out lovely. Will defo be using it on future catties,
  15. I finished a walnut catapult with it today, first time using it, it brings the grain out lovely and leaves a good hard wearing finish as well, apply as many coats until desired finish is achieved, just rub lightly with fine wire wool between coats, this was after a couple of coats, will buff it tomorow when I finish coating it
  16. hi mate, and thanks..... If honest not a lot, prob £20 ish posted, I'm not out on a money making thing, any bit of money left over after buying materials and tools is put into an account for my 2 young daughters, I enjoy the making of them and maybe getting new people into catties than trying to make anything on them, Pm me if you like and I'm sure we could sort something out, cheers
  17. thanks mate, you've helped me a lot since getting into them....... And still helping me now :-)
  18. I think first catties are a hard one mate, mainly because you don't really know what shape/size/style catty suits you, at first all we really go on are what "looks" nice to us, although it may look nice, in reality it may be totally the wrong shape/style/size for our individual shooting style. Things to consider would be how you hold the catty comfortably? (Forks up/forks sideways) what style of band attachment? (OTT /TTF etc) what you will be using it for? (Target practise= size and shape not really irrelevant, or using it for hunting and mooching = slip into pocket easily?) I think it takes
