  11. sent two messages about the ferrets....cash waiting still no reply !
  12. if it's a jill she is probably in season again, the hormone imbalance causes hair to thin or fall out, three of mine are the same, it's natural and nothing to worry about
  13. every dog is different, mine sticks his head down the hole then paws the ground at the entrance to the hole then goes to the next hole, if you ain't watching you miss the mark ! my mates whippet cross stannds 2 feet from the hole listening and then marks by growling ! again, if you ain't watching you miss the mark. your dog will decide how it wants to mark, you just have to watch and decide what is a mark and what isn't....
  14. i take it you want a vasectimised hob to do the deed ?
  15. have inherited another lathe so i have for sale, myford ml7 lathe, excellent condition, spare soft jaw chuck, four way tool post, a few tools, standard tailstock centre, 2 tailstock chucks, backplate, large change wheel set, 240v 2 hp motor (cost me a bloody fortune) the origional motor is included and a few other bits and pieces like clamps and spacers etc....will deliver for fuel cost if localish...............£375
  16. can't agree with the snow theory, two jills outside not in season, two in the shed in season, one is very ready and the other halfway there !
  17. which won't happen with a mk3 because of the frequency it uses (although your mobile will interfere with a mk 3 if it's within a few inches of the locater)....you will however experience problems with the new crappy oversized magnetic collars, usually reduced signal if around metal fences or ground with a high instance of metals or even more usually a signal that is very erratic......in my experience that is batteries for the old collars are 394 and for the new collar are 393 the batteries MUST be silver oxide NOT alkaline
  18. ffs, the guy asked a question so he could learn something which is the aim of forums like this! where did he say he was breeding ferrets ? he might possibly be asking so that when he does breed from his stock, he will know what to look for ! everyone has to learn, even you and i knew feck all once upon a time but with asking questions of those who claim to know, we learn stuff ! and stubby.......i wouldn't call you a member......you seem such a decent bloke :D
  19. i'm on a few forums where i will only be allowed to post sales adverts after 100 posts and 3 months of membership, even then it will only be if admin judge my other posts to be of value to the forum, can't you do something like this ?
  20. sunday morning produced a bit of a surprise......11th of january, bloody freezing, good company and these with the condition of my freezing extremities.........it's NOT global fecking warming making them breed early either anyone else come across any babies yet ?
  21. the danger of turning your passion/hobby into a paying occupation is that you will probably turn into a self opinionated, egotistical, pig ignorant, blithering tw@t who talks bollox writes bollox and makes sh1t dvds like whithead/warrener/frein etc
  22. so at 10 month old, it bolted over 40 rabbits on it's first time down a hole ! .........
  23. i normally wait 10-15 minutes, scan round with the finder, see whats what, if the ferts are running round like daft things, i put the big hob down to sort em out, if they are laid up......time to dig
  24. my dog ignores my ferrets, the same can't be said for the ferrets ignoring the dog though i'd get the ferts now and get them as young as possible so you have the best chance of them mixing
  25. unless i'm doing it wrong, i want ferrets that will bolt rabbits if possible and kill if need be, as kay pointed out, it's not a nice thing leaving a dead/injured rabbit underground, so, if my ferrets kill, i want them to at least have the decency to stay with the rabbit so i can dig to it, all my ferrets go mental when i squeek/call/whistle them in the garden, some even come to me, one jumps unrealistic distances off the hutch roof to sit on my shoulder, when working and they are on rabbits, feck all shifts em........trained ferrets my arse
