    You can shoot unsupervised and carry your gun and carts to the shoot as long as your gun is in its slip. You are right in saying that gun carts will have to be bought for you until you are 18 though Atvb Jamie

    I've got an 1989 2.5td as my first car. If you look carefully and don't but the first thing you look at you can come away with a good deal, I paid £2500 for a car with good mechanicals apart from a worn out drag link and the body work was faded, other than that it's all good condition and will last for ever of looked after. Another point to consider is that when your defender breaks it's much easier and cheaper to fix than if the same thing happened to a jap truck. Also if you do wear the thing out you can rebuild it all for minimal outlay and learn more about cars and mechanics whilst doing

    The browning gold hunter would be worth a look at that money, versatile, reliable, well made, good handling and also has a speed load feature seeing as you say you need to reload fast. £500 shod buy you a good condition example aswell.

    Also a friend in the same situation with less shooting experience has just been granted coterminous SGC and FAC with .22, section 1 shotgun and .243 but was told he could have had anything up to .300 win mag as he has red deer on one of his permissions.

    Hi guys I'm applying for my FAC at the minute and I'm asking for .243, .17 hmr and sec1 shotgun. However I could also do with a dedicated foxing calibre but can't decide between .223 or .22-250 so would anyone in the Penrith area be willing to let me try either of the above calibres to try and make my mind up? Cheers

    Hi Tom, where are you doing your course at? In terms of gun decide what you are going to use it for and what configuration is best. In terms of make anything from baikal, Lanber, Laurona, browning or beretta plus many more will last for ages aslong as you look after it. Just remember that fancy wood and engraving doesn't make you shoot better though haha Atvb
