    The borders are not bad but as stated in a earlier post they are late starters but once they get going they are as good as any terrier,i advise you if you want to go for a bushing terrier stick to a bushing terrier,dont try and get one that works cover and will go to ground as while your out bushing your dogs will go to ground on the first earth he comes to and it always happens when you have no collar on him,i had a border one that was nearly 3 years old before it started but a demon when it did ,

    Hi,i know its illegal to dock a terriers tails but if you had terrier pups and you wanted to dock the tail,how much would you take,when i used to dock tail off pups i used to take one third off and leave two thirds on,i have seen some terriers with no tail and they look shit,so if you were docking tails what or how much do you dock.

    Dogs seized from house in Keady, County Armagh, put down Seven dogs that police believe had been used for hunting have had to be put down after being seized from a house in Keady, County Armagh. Police said officers on routine patrol seized 12 terriers on Castleblayney Road on Sunday 3 November. However, seven had to be put down because of the severity of their injuries. New homes are being sought for the others. Two men, aged 34 and 37, were questioned about cruelty offences. A report is being prepared for the Public Prosecution Service.

    i think when you start cocking your leg on the lamp post and you start mounting the neighbours legs and you go around marking the area you live in i think then people will class you as a dogman,they will call you other names aswell,

    I like that lurcher,can you tell me how she is bred,she reminds me of a lurcher i had years ago,the bitch i had was deerhound greyhound x collie greyhound,a very good bitch day or night.

    i have never been run off land i didnt have permission to course or lamp,most farmers wouldnt get out of bed at night time to run you,different thing in the daytime,but before they get to you your in someone else,s land,thing is if your lamping on forbidden land you dont go near fields where sheep or lambs are and you keep on eye on your quarry and the other on the farmers house just in case,and make sure you know the lie of the land just in case you need a speedy excape.

    it has some stamina,over 4 minutes coursing ,i think the longer the course the better the dog gets

    Disagree with you there mate,your dog was lucky it got a decent home.We have loads of lurchers in usually there for a while having a miserable life in kennels then most are PTS that's the real facts. I would rather PTS than hand one of mine in,everyone thinks they all go on to have a great life on some ones sofa,after you work in places like this you quickly see they don't . maybe you right mate as i have seen plenty of dogs PTS in the dog pound but any i have given to this lady from the lurcher and greyhound rescue have been rehomed ,probably not all dogs are as lucky as mine,

    that was some course,and the hare made good the electric fences but he still couldnt shake them off his tail,would of been nice to see the hare get away,but a great course all the same.

    its all about patience,bonding with your lurcher,no matter what breed he is you can train him,taking your time from the start of your ownership of the dog,

    I have have a few lurchers over the years that were useless,[wouldnt run to warm themselves]good pets about all,so i know this lady that adoped them and rehomed them,she had a lurcher and greyhound rescue in meath and she would send them after giving them all their injections to Finland to their new homes,and then she would post pictures on the web about how they were getting on,i seen one of mine with a doggy coat on and sleeping on a sofa and living the life,i soppose its better giving the dog to a rescue home rather than putting it to sleep,but taking a dog out of a rescue center is taking
