With my limited experience of lurchers i have seen some very fast saluki lurchers but looking at a lot of them its seems to be more a question of anticipation rather than speed they lack in ireland .Some seem to have the speed but lack the timing or know how of when to turn it on .What ever it is a lot of the lurchers in ireland at the min struggle to control the hare on smaller land in my opinion.Theirs a new thing in coursing at the min and it seems to be becoming more important than the dog. I hear it mentioned a lot lately and have seen it down the years its the man thats slipping on here

Bannerman I seen a bitch run for a full season in Ireland never killed a hare don't think I seen her turn one in a single handed run .She was ran in the yeats com in England and killed 2 out of 3 so how come the English hare is the real test if she could kill 2 in England and not kill one for the whole season in ireland

That dog lads ran that hare for a few minutes and the man that has him is happy enough with him .We all cant have super stars but as he said himself hes only 2 so when he has a few seasons over him that might be the time to judge him.Ted has 5 seasons done hes still at it and im happy enough with him.Some people like a different dog every week and their all superstars until their gone some people like to keep what they have.Ringo is bred very close to some of the superstars that are on the go at the min
