Pups And Youngens For Next Season
bornhunterharvey replied to bornhunterharvey's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Took pup for a walk down lane by me just to see what she would be like with a few wooley backs and as you will see from the pics she looks like she wants to eat them not get along with um. She was just focused on them so I didnt want to get her too close and her end up pulling one through the sheep mesh. Farmer's already got a dog on his shotgun list and I didnt want her to be his second. -
I couldnt of worded it better bosum out working is the way your dog will be 100% fit.

What was the best breed for coursing in england before the saluki came over sea's on big land. Been told deerhound greyhound x beddi greyhound. Is there anybody on here that ran on big land before the saluki got put into the breeding for coursing dogs?

Seriously, have you ever seen a hare nevermimd a small field? I love the thought process, see the word small field, get a small dog for those of us who have ram small fields will know, no c**t told the hare he's in a small field. As far as he's concerned he's in open land with bits of wire, fence posts, walls, trees, gates etc to use as means of escape. The way you lot talk the dogs got to catch in a paddock or all is lost your right in the fact you need a fast type dog but you don't need a small dog ffs. One that can jump, has a turn of speed and a bit of wind is what your after. Hav I seen -

Good sign that will tell you your dogs not too good is its nose it should be wet not dry and gums nice and pink.

Thing is with dogs they get board of the same diet mate or say for instance if youve got a misses that gives um tip bits like left over meals. I just give the dogs a mixed diet one day dry next day raw , brown rice , brown bread , toms . Like baw said try some thing light chicken. Thats all the vet will advise you to do if there nothing wrong just off there food. But better to be safe than sorry get them to vets for a once over. That new strain of parvo's in town so would'nt risk just sat back and watch your dogs go down hill mate.
