What are your thoughts on this breed anyone use them I'm looking to get one for ferreting and lamping a general all rounder really will it catch long ears are they easy to teach thanks quite new to dogs so any advice would be appreciated

A little not much really just the rabbits were hard to bolt we had enough ferrets to keep changing them really sandy digs which was good to dig but really deep think we had 9 rabbits and 5 of these were lay ups

Well asked some friends down for a days ferreting and all we did all day was dig for em really got a few but got bit disheartening in the end rabbits just did not want to bolt any one else had days like this

Well arrived at about half 8 walk upto farmer let him no were here and he says your to late there were some 4 lads here 2 days ago just walked on and did it the fffucckers he said they had a load about 5 lol none the less we still cracked on there were rabbit droppings everywhere did a couple of small sets 4 honkers got 2 from one and another from another.then we got to a small bank that had about 15 holes it was brilliant 9 bolts 2 digs we did miss one but there you go that put us on 15 got there pretty quick but things sort a slowed on the next 2 burrows with nothing home guess they were don

Just looking into getting a little lamping dog and ferreting must be good with kids as I have a 2 year old I was thinking of a bedding ton whippet what you all think cheers

Hi guys bit of thinking ahead I have 2 gills there about 7-8 months old will they come into season this year and is there another way to take them out of season other than mating them I don't have a hob and don't no anyone who has one I don't want to breed them this year but maybe next year when I'm more experienced any advice thanks

Any advice guys I'm locating the ferrets ok but when I dig down to the ferrets I can be still quite away from ferret am I doing it wrong or does it need recaliberating it beeps when I'm near and the dial I turn down a little bit then search again till I think I'm right in it but generally I can't get no beeping after 4 foot

Well went on my own today loaded up 2 ferrets and me old spaniel which I have never taken before. So get to the permission and get the kit and off I walk to a bank and a ditch and burys all way around the field so let the dog have a smell about and to my surprise she was marking holes straight away nose in them trying to dig at so put her on the lead as I don't trust her with ferrets yet. Got a couple out of here and just kept moving on really getting one here and there and the bag was getting there then I get to 7 holer netted up and I got 5 from here as I was on my own and the bag was upto 1

I had some real bad kits that were about 5 months old and they just would not stop biting I think there was something wrong with em interbred or something got them off a girl on here who just came on here to get rid of some kits never seen her post again well anyway got 2 gill kits from a recommended breeder and they never bite and there a pleasure to work and you dint worry about bit so as said get some well bred kits and you should not have a priblem

Well went out this morning for a few hours managed 4. Had to dig three times one got away lucky git could not quite reach him but the wind today got so bad had to leave earley could not here a thing what was going on could not even here the locater working at times I like to here the banging around that's what it's all about for me oh well got 4 better then being at work

Anyone else find with the mk1 collers get caught on the nets a lot it's so annoying find the ferrets tangled all the time or is it inexperience of the ferrets
