  1. Would yapping as a pup have any affect on opening up later in life or is that just a pup thing ? Im new to running dogs thats all so trying to gather advice Matt

Some good advice here , i was told to let the pup watch other experienced dogs work but i can also see were your coming from "shaaark" especially at night when theres nothing else to look at other than down the beam , what would people say about daytime work i.e. Ferreting ... Would this still frustrate a young dog and make it yap ? Matt
  3. Hear plenty of prople say that beddy x's are prone for yapping ... Iv got a whippet/beddy/grey pup and wondering will she be a yapper , can anything be done to prevent this or is it just something that will happen or not happen ? Cheers Matt

  6. I have only ever had permission my word and as permission is hard to get and keep Hold of due to the demand i am going to type a covering letter out tonight , can anyone give any pointers on what to include in this letter ? I have a draft written out but want it to be right . Cheers Matt

  9. With you saying you wasnt succesfull at keeping ferrets as pets you might struggle getting out with lads off here , not the best first impression ! Good luck tho
  10. I was just saying to my mate i could do with open ground for that reason , my main permission is thick forestry so would be hard for the pup

  14. Thanks for the advice guys , shame theres nobody local that i know that has a rabbiting dog for her to learn off and help bring on ... I dont mind the challenge of doing it solo but as said it would help to follow and run along side an experienced dog ! I can see me having my hands full with ferrets/rabbits and the pup but all part and parcel until it clicks and the dog and i can trust eachother fully . Matt
  15. As many people use dogs whilst ferreting im wondering at what age you would take your pup out to see rabbits hit the nets and to familiarise themselfs whith ferrets and the goings on around a warren ? Would you let ur pup rome free or keep it on a lead etc ? Thanks in advance Matt

  18. I could put her in the back of my van but any hard braking or anything could cause injury , terrier lads use boxes so surely a bigger box would work ? Im tempted to knock one up or buy one any pics guys ? Cheers

Excuse my lack of knowlege on running dogs im still learning but im after some info and ideas on how you guys get your dogs about , i dont mean car/van etc i mean in regards to boxes , cages etc ...   20. Picked a pup up today that " stud dog " on here sorted for me wippet bull grey x wippet beddy grey , will get some pics soon and get them up when i figure out how to do it ! Top bloke to deal with aswell very honest and helpfull Cheers Matt
