  1. They might think you're me as we've nearly got the same name. I'm more boring though so they'll get it soon enough. Or we could settle it with a hair pulling contest I suppose............... Welcome anyway
  2. What's the most lightweight kit then, if you're not planning to be out for hours?
  3. Not so much anymore. Someone just sent me this pic of Rew and his brother.... Mind you, it has been a while..................
  4. All has become clear....think this was for Scallywag with an ! .... I'm just Scallywag. This could get confusing. I think the other Scallywag! seems like the kind of gal who might well oblige you with a photo
  5. Thanks nitevision. They're getting fit - both been injured so I'm working hard to get them right. Here's a better one of the merle since you like her. I do too, obviously....
  6. Here's a couple from the beach this weekend. Not the best but i have to edit the others a bit....
  7. Hi Rew, thanks for asking. 2 lurchers, both rescues so origins unknown. But one a greyhoud/collie type the other deerhound/collie. I've just taken some photos of THEM and will post when I sort them out. I could post some naked photos of me but you'd have to poke your eyes out after - I'm middle aged and fat  . Here's a little something to keep you going instead... Oh, and I mooch but have a shiney new permission once the sheep are moved And I don't see much action at all so if you fancy posting a nekkid photo of yourself it's be much appreciated
  8. Fantastic photos! Loved the last lot too. Couldn't get the video to work tho....
  9. It's the 4th biggest petition on there now Do they have any effect though?
  10. I gut them, chop them in half and give half each to the two dogs, plus the liver and kidneys, unless I want rabbit stew in which case they get what I don't want, raw of course.
  11. 'This is not just cheesecake....this is creamy french cheese made from free range ewe's milk on an organic highland shortcake base, wrapped in a pedigree rottweiller, chops drizzled in raspberry jus, paws smeared with honey sweetened cream made from the bees of andalucia....'
  12. Bonny, really sorry to hear about your experience. I understood that dogs bred and trained for fighting OTHER DOGS (as opposed to guarding against humans etc) were meant to be very reliable with people, since they needed to be capable of bite inhibition with their owners when being handled during and just after a fight. Is this rubbish then? I've heard it more than once from people with dogs from fighting lines....
  13. How do you know he read 24 profiles MOLL. Yeah, and whose were they?
  14. Took me ages to get approved for this site and then a tosser like this turns up and starts posting willy nilly! Make him go away!
  15. Well I think it's the price advised on the website and I was happy to pay it
  16. Well both the dogs have been done. It hurt them for about a second and then they thoroughly enjoyed having the ink rubbed in. Cost £20 per dog. Even my very hand shy bitch has already put it behind her and is more interested in when she's getting her chicken wings.
  17. Thanks for that. So I'm thinking a nice tasteful butterfly on my bitch's upper thigh and 'Death before dishonour' on my dog's shoulder. What do you reckon?
  18. I have arranged to have my dogs ear tattooed tomorrow afternoon because as I understand it tattoos are the only legal proof of ownership available. I'm aware that some dogs have their ears mutilated to remove tattoos but the advice I've been given is that this is rare in lurchers (more common in greys) and that tattoos serve as a deterrant to theives. I'm having last minute cold feet though. Any thoughts from anyone? Thanks.
  19. Hi Countrymaid, I'm another female although I hesitate to call myself a lady I grew up in a dairy farming family with a few poachers on the side and knew ratting terriers and working collies first. I now have 2 lurchers, both rescues and have just (fingers crossed) gained my first permission on a local organic smallholding. No other half so I pretty much do as I please
  20. Amputation is a solution but if you've got a dog that's prone to toe injuries you don't want to be too hasty. The dog might well manage without ONE toe, but what about the next toe injury and the one after that? The dog's young with a lot of years ahead of it.... Personally I'd take the time to heal the toe and use amputation as a last resort. Just my opinion...
  21. I've always wanted one of these.....
  22. My bitch has a broken toe at the moment. It was swollen and was clicky when manipulated when she first did it. The vet xrayed it, which cost a bomb and probably wasn't striktly necesary, bound her foot and proscribed pain killer and anti inflam. I've been told 6 weeks before it's healed. Perfect timing
  23. Which part of your body is that then DS
  24. Thanks for the encouragement everyone. Don't worry I'll be diligent and respectful. Will keep you posted
