First Night Lamping In The Dales !!
scarboroughshooter replied to scarboroughshooter's topic in Airgun Hunting
Cheers for comments, shot drifted unfortunately as it was gusting atleast it was straight dead. Some right comments on here last time i put up an honest writeup ! ive been shooting a while and thats the first time ive made the mistake of shooting a hare instead of a rabbit, just simply the fact i had my light on vlow and it was amongst what probably where other hares and rabbits. I admit i misidentified the target not used to the green light yet should have gone for red. Most of criticism is good and rightly so but a few push it, vm is right about shot placement. And by a while i -
First Night Lamping In The Dales !!
scarboroughshooter replied to scarboroughshooter's topic in Airgun Hunting
It was pissing it down i was shooting under a green lamp and there was 8 hares bunched together. Now tell me rong but last time i knew hares didn't group together like that, the shot placement was through the eyes and it dropped like a stone the wind was 16mph and i was compensating for the wind. The lungshot was aimed for and I had my lamp on low light as it was a relatively bright night. It was a surprise it was a hare because it was grouped together with so many harea and rabbits. It was my first time shooting over the area under lamp so my range was a bit off. Yet everything was an ins -

First Night Lamping In The Dales !!
scarboroughshooter replied to scarboroughshooter's topic in Airgun Hunting
You can lamp them ! lots of controversy about it but yeah, you can lamp them but you cant hunt them between march and july and you cant hunt them on Christmas too . . . -
Well, i made a stupid error in judgement promising 8 rabbits to one of my local restaurants on weds with none in the fridge. So i set off out with my green nightfire? lamp and my daystate huntsman .177 The rabbits had definitely been lamped before ! So lampshy on some of the fields it was unbelievable ... gutted. I got my first rabbit of the night coming down off a hill ( against the wind) so it was a complete shock, shot him straight through the eyes ! I then spotted a hare about 40 yards away and took him down with a lung shot, clean kill rolled over before i had chance to chamber anoth

Ferreting Tag Along In The Dales !
scarboroughshooter replied to scarboroughshooter's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
I already have a permission for shooting so ferreting will be no problem but I want to go with someone experienced on either my perm or someone elses. I want to learn more about long netting and ferreting so I want to tag along with someone that is already doing that and help out to get to learn more. Anyone around skipton/bradford/yorkshire dales way go out and wouldnt mind someone helping out ? Cheers Rich -
