A few years ago before the CRT started there war on Zander, You could guarantee a fish or too per session. And i mean proper fish well into double figures, There are fish of those sizes still about but are few and far between. I know of a few pits with good sized Zander in but very rarely do they come out, Although a match fisherman had one over 11lb this summer whilst retrieving sweet corn. Back to the challenge, Today was the fifth afternoon session, So far a Roach of 1/2lb or so. He was free ranging within a defined area, the game reserve, The bloke who owns the game farm where Cecil was shot is mates with Steve109 the taxidermist who was on here, They had to place a carboard police patrol car outside his home, The thing is these places are about generating an income that is then passed down through the local economy. without this income and the protection afforded to the animals within the game reserve/farm/whatever they would be wiped out, Safari's alone do not generate enough income to warrant the animals being there. Well day 2 went to shit, 2hrs this afternoon and the only action was me shouting at the bloke who was planning to electro fish the area i was fishing, I could here this small outboard chugging away to my left.
