  5. A mate of mine purchased a house off, I think they called him Snowy or something, opposite the fire station, at the back of the small cottages. We stored Campers there for a while until the Council got the arse Lol, We used the Yard pub i think it was called and the little Chinese opposite.
  6. I live in a small village and for what ever the reason they appear to not want to live here, But when i go to the local towns and cities, its just heart breaking to see what's happened to them, But i went to the little market town of Atherstone yesterday to watch the ball game. (Check out some pictures i posted) This little high street is packed with independently owned shops and loads of pubs, all mainly English owned. The place is always busy, I have no idea what's being done in that little town that's not being done all over the Country.
  7. I have said this before, When the other year the BBC reported on a mass fight in Leicester, They said it was due to the result of a cricket match between India and Pakistan, Load of shit, It was actually about Muslins trying to buy up property in a mainly Hindu area. There are parts of Leicester where English is now the second or third language.
  8. As we both know it often gets ugly Lol
  9. Back on the subject of Big Pike, I was a bailiff on a small syndicate clay pit. This place was mainly carp fishermen. ( I use the term fishermen Loosely Lol ) They went to around the 30lb mark, This water in well over 50ft deep in places and often 17ft at the edge. The pike in there are plentiful. There was only a couple of us that actually fished for them in the winter, My biggest was 24lb but i witnessed one over 27lb come out. In the summer when i was feeder fishing they did at times really become a nuisance. They would take Perch over a Pound. Bream to nearly 2lb, Some of these pik
  10. I use to make imitation dog biscuits from Deer hair to use on the fly rod. Great fun catching Big carp on a fly set up,
  11. There is a video of it swimming away strongly upon release.
  12. The fish i believe was weighed at 47lb 5oz but is yet to be verified, So at this point as far as i am aware its not an actual British record fish, Although it possibly will be, As for Mchull and his great white caught in the village pond, Don't dismiss it out of hand, i have fished the local canal here for over 50 years on and off and the best i have landed was around 20lb. However the elctro fishing team employed by the CRT pulled out one over 32lb from an area just near me a couple of years ago,
  13. Not my pictures, but long may it continue.
  14. I once was the manager of a factory that made narrow fabrics, we had over 500 braiding machines and about 20 knitting machines, Trying to compete in a global market ended up impossible, Towards the end I could by the finished product that we were making, delivered from the east. for roughly the same price as it would have cost me buy the raw material in this country, It was a no brainer to close the company and just sell imported stuff, I am sure that AliExpress or temu would be a good place to look for 6oz nylon.
  15. Came across this picture the other day, What a capture, Australia do you think?
  16. I always thought the old belief that where you find a good population of hare`s then the rabbit population will be low, was a pile of shite, But it appears at certain times of year, when the male hares have a higher than normal desire to find a female and do the deed then it appears that they will chase rabbits off, Raised testosterone perhaps,
  17. The chair was free and the effort was around 5 minutes to lift it in the back Lol, The van is an ex mobility wheelchair conversion, great for loading my fishing trolley into as it has the ramps and the clip belts to lock the front wheels,
  18. You could not comprehend the amount of effort that went into doing all that work.
  19. Just finished. what do you think?.
  20. I have just added that to my post Lol
  21. Nothing new there mate, Back in the early 1900`s the East India Trading Company was paying the wages of whole regiments. They are the reason we ended up with Hong Kong. The exploits of the East India Company didn’t end in India. In one of its darkest chapters, the Company smuggled opium into China in exchange for the country’s most prized trade good: tea. China only traded tea for silver, but that was hard to come by in England, so the Company flouted China’s opium ban through a black market of Indian opium growers and smugglers. As tea flowed into London, the Company’s investors g
