  1. Just to point out that neither of the two terriers have done this sort of thing before and to be honest they will be on the transfer list if it happens again
  2. Talking about numbers and how everyone's going on ,I thought I'd share my experiences on thurs just gone,me and my mate took two seasoned decent dogs and a green bitch out to farm that's always held decent numbers with some nice puppy earths for the first time this season. Dug my old dog three times , once digging up to a rabbit and twice stuck!!!!!!!, my mates dog spent about an hour each going round and round two separate earths willing something to be there. We were fecking about from six till half two in the afternoon so as you can see boys my seasons started feckin brilliantly. I'm gett
  3. Nice read and brought back memories of following the lunesdale when johnny nick was huntsman, that man could have a walk!!!!! Second only to Dennis Barrow IMO they could really put a lad who thought he was fit in his place. I've never recovered from my guided tour of eagles crag by Mr Barrow and the ullswater!!!!

    Griffons

Cheers boys I think I'll do a body swerve on the griffons, there's nothing worse than hounds rioting and I don't want to invite trouble. Cheers for the input you've saved me a fair bit of time trying to catch up with rabbiting griffons I reckon!!!!!! Lol

    Griffons

The petite will go through a brick wall. The drive is turbo boosted, but they will switch and hunt whatever comes.Keeping them to Fox never mind the same Fox might be a tad difficult. Beagles are better. So they"'ll change if there hunting a Fox,sack that. Cheers for the input folks

that doesnt sound great , Ive been told the've got loads of drive and are especially good in cover although Im talking the petite the grand seem a bit cumbersome
  7. Has anybody had any experience in entering Griffons to Fox only, are they as bad as everyone says?
  8. Has anyone had any experience entering them as Fox only ?
  9. If your names anything to go buy mate, a long way south I'm in Manchester
  10. Can see a few issues if you kennelled them together ,also I can't see anything being gained and a lot being lost in terms of you wanting a scent hunting hound type, can't you put a welsh dog over your bitch
  11. If your after hounds I've got an old English bitch that's in pup to a harrier x modern English dog it was a mistake mating and I don't need any pups so if anyone wants any there more than welcome, just give me a shout
  12. for what it's worth I reckon as has been said there are some good authors who can spin a yarn and some that just seem to be repeating the same old tales with a different slant, they must do it for some type of recognition unless they start like harcombe did because they were skint,
  13. everyone likes to know how somethings bred to the extent that Im positive that most of the older lads on here wouldnt dream of rearing a pup that they didnt know how was bred and had seen the particular lines in action so dont take the stick seriously. What i would do is ask the guys whos names you've got who they got the terriers from originally and you may get names that are recognised. Some people breed off a bitch they have bought in and all of a sudden its their line.
  14. bottom line is , if you cant prove the dog wrong dont do anything just take him home and bring something out to prove him right or wrong next time. As soon as you can prove either way then deal with it acordingly . Its a nightmare if you've got a dog that you have high hopes for and it makes a mistake or you think theres something in. We've all been to spots at this time of year that a raked out to hell and padded down for the dog to not even bother evn though you can almost taste them!!!, its all part of the game. If theres one thing I have learned its that doing something in the heat of the
  15. THLpatrick they all are mate ha ha , they must be disapointed when they get them home but they never bring them back!!!!!! the thieving tossers , Im gonna speak to my vet and see what he says. i'll let you know
  16. Didn't know it was illegal cheers, back to the drawing board anyone know we're I can get man traps!!!!!!!! Ha ha
  17. Has anyone had any experience of freeze branding for dogs , I was thinking of this as a deterrent for dog thefts as I've had two terriers and two litters of pups stolen over the last couple of years from my yard. My important dogs are now at my house but I'm thinking an obvious marking like a freeze brand would mean the dogs couldn't be sold or used in public as easily and put the dirty thieving scumbags off. Has anyone got any ideas for obvious permanent marking!!!! Cheers
  18. I agree fatman after a time in the job its quality that counts not quantity, if your out all through the SEASON and are getting one or two quality digs in good company each week and your dogs are doing it as it should be done , whats better!!!!
