  1. I know a couple in London, who probably take home about 150k plus a year, when they had their baby, they said the NHS care was minimal......I said why didn't you go private?......you can afford it right? They said they just didn't get round to it.......thousands of couples like that......if I go to the docs here, I actually hand €50 cash over......best service I've ever had......start means testing in England, make upper middle class pay.....it's the only way to save it......you just have to get over it's everyone's right
  2. I wish my parents had been alot more pushy & got me doing more in & out of school, they were great, but I needed a kick up the arse to be honest, my dad was just satisfied I was into hunting like him lol I've only just had my first son, but I'll be dong as much as can to help him reach his potential. I think one of the biggest problem with the English game is the kids just see all the riches they can have first, it's the trappings more than the glory perhaps, all ways makes me laugh when people harp on about what a great role model beckam is to kids....what? Greed & Vanity with h

  4. I've worked a bunch of lurcher's, one thing I can't remember doing is getting a tape measure out and measuring the dog to the shoulder! Lol They just did what they did, rabbit, hare or fox, all good.....sound line a bunch of falconers with their weights......1lb 6oz or 1lb 13oz.....lol

  6. Look I am absolutely no expert, but the better question would maybe be 'why do I want an imprint goshawk', if the answer is you want to breed through AI or pull game birds out of the sky maybe 5-7 days a week, then maybe an imprint is for you, if not go with a parent reared, they can man down just as well & probably a lot less hassle.......it can be done

    Totally get what you mean....lol
  11. a clever owner will bring the best out of an intelligent dog. where as a foolish owner will more than likely ruin it.. i think the dogs intelligence works againt itself. in this situation. i feel a lot of terriers work on instinct. whilst others are intelligent and learn the game with guidance from clever owners. . i think there are very intelligent dogs in all types. especially scatterbred dogs and crossbreds . and i feel the best earthdogs work more on instinct. instinct and intelligence are often confused. imo Yeh I agree with pretty much all you are saying, foolish owners just don't know w
  12. Hmmm.......so are you saying you can teach a dog intelligence? Surely it has that base intelligence before it can soak up everything you try to get across, as well as it's own initiative....

    About Time

Don't worry about the feathers mate, my male used to get dragged into all kinds of situations & no damage, the feathers would just 'banana', easily rectified with boiling hot water, unlike my gos who needed 5 imps after 1 cock pheasant!
  14. Best retriever I had was an ex-track greyhound I used for lamping for 2 seasons, she used to gallop back & dump them at your feet....many a time she had to run the same rabbit twice.... Lol
