Aye but we don't smoke it for the taste lol tried them vaporisers and they garbage ruin the taste, us tokers doomed to suffer lol Exactly mate. It's one thing chucking the fags but I don't want to chuck the other I got a magic flight box vaporiser last year........that works well & you can take it anywhere.......I've used it in restaurants lol But the constant recharging of batteries is a real pain in the arse.........

I'm not against the controlled culling of buzzards, but say for example...in area where you have an abundance of buzzards, but one nesting pair of goshawks........now to me the goshawks are likely to be doing more damage to pheasant poults than the buzzards, so do you kill the goshawks? I think a licence could work, but not for keepers, it would be open to abuse.......but an independent pest controller, that could work...maybe

A hobby keeper I worked along side for years, used to bring a lot into work to give away, he just couldn't get rid of them...... After all there not the best of game to eat, people can't be arsed with all the prep......only to eat dry meat

in the past the biggest single factor in the decline in bop was farming practices and things like DDT, if population size is constrained by food availability then the evidence is that there is an increase in prey otherwise how would you explain the spread of the buzzard, most BOP are territorial so it will be a small number that are causing issues, the only BOP that will gather when an abundance of food is available is the buzzard. they could issue a license to cull say five per season this should be enough to cover the period where predation is an issue, they already issue such licenses to f

No problem.......thats one more thing you know now eh!

I hear that banded about by buzzard loving anti game shooters all the time. Any proof of that or just what your mate who did a bit of keepering on the big estate told you? Why on earth would a commercial game shoot effectively burn their profits by dumping saleable game produce? When with the demand for game and being a relatively large scale and regular producer of game they could sell to a dealer? Simply...... prove it.... Proof lol.......so you want me to gather photographic evidence ,name's, witnesses etc....lol..........it happens mate simple as that & if your too naive to be

that's what iam saying, start of the season the owner of the shoot+ keeper, would work out how many birds there putting out or poults to rear . What ever the number 3000 - 6000 birds they got to know they will loose quite few to predators etc . And some shoots, guns are paying £ 8-10 grand full gun a season , last time was beating at few shoots most had 8-10 guns , so I reckon they could cover the cost of having extra birds they may need , that will be taken from predators , or as above killed on roads etc. Now to me lab , that's how a proper shoot should be run, if they trying to

Nice one mate..........I need plenty more practice as yet :-)

Second neighbour today gives exactly the same story.........screaming heard long before the shots.......... So you hear someone in the cubical..........& the women you love more than anything else is nowhere in sight.......naturally you shoot four shots through the door just in case it's not her.......lol lol......anyone who believes that is seriously deluded. Yes South Africa is rough.......but if you followed that logic, you'd be shooting through the door every time you heard the door bell....

Holding A Dog Back Till 2 Or Older ??
Accip74 replied to whitefeet4190's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
A terrier ruined from early starting....really? How do you know?? Basically what's been already said.....I think often you are just finding out sooner, rather than later, that the dog really hasn't got it in them...... For me the trouble with late starters is if they're questionable between 2-3 years, I'd still be questioning that dog at 4.....& that's potentially half it's working life gone.................& life too short -
You need few words with pictures like those :-) good stuff

Guilty without doubt.........probably a psychopath....

It's easy until you leave the motorway lol........but you'd be surprised how quickly you adjust........I have to really concentrate when I return to England now :-)

Italy , now they are fekin nuts there, 90% of cars have dents in them Yeh I was thinking of Italy.....;-) I drove round that nutty roundabout at the Arc di Triomphe in Paris a few years ago i wanted the 4th exit according to the ol satnav.......i shit it and jumped off at the first ....what a mad gaff that is !! Driving in Paris is mental.......lol

I like driving in London..........it's quite tame compared to some of the city's I've driven in......

Who care's.........those who work them will work them, those who show them will show them............patterdale/fell seem to be the main dog of choice for serious digging men in the UK, there's been non-workers winning at working terrier shows for years lol, so I doubt it will mean the demise of working black dogs........KC aren't responsible for the populisation of black dogs....

I keep promising myself I'll get into fly fishing one day.......just before I left England, my mate built his own coracal & we tried it out on Flatford Mill pond.........it was fantastic.....I then had this romantic notion of me drifting down the river, first light, in a coracal with a Tenkara rod....... I'd still like to give the Tenkara fly fishing a go...........it needs to be very simple for me to cope :-)

Nice looking pup

Not sure what it's been like in the North, but obviously in the west they have been living with very high buzzard numbers for many years.......in the east of England it's probably been only the last 10+ years that have seen a widespread population of buzzards, but already in that time it's become apparent that the population will need controlling, such are the numbers..... That said.......I do find it an irritating attitude of a lot of the keepers/shooter's I've come across.....that every stoat, fox, bird of prey etc etc needs to die to avoid mass carnage of pheasant poults....... What's eve

Any 'would be' harris hawker should of read this before stepping into the field......
-
Yeh don't rule it out..........if you do one day......don't let it fly from tree's........things will gradually start to slip, you don't need to anyway, that's the point.........they don't actually need that advantage, especially if you've got a dog......;-)
-
In my limited experience, I found it to be the case, they generally fly lower to the ground in pursuit & on return, than a harris does, plus being a Northern European bird, their plumage is more suited to the wet, especially after their first moult, when the feathers harden........ & you've got the best tool for the job, your pointer........jmho....but I'd think you would kill more over a pointer with a gos, than a harris & the flights will blow you away :-) From your posts, you sound like you would have the patience for a goshawk as well....... I never lost a days hunting wit
