Yes that's perfectly fair, he's earnt that. The dog situation is different, the purpose of this insurance is completely different. car insurance is to ensure that any accidents are sorted out fairly and the greater risk of you causing an accident combined with the potential cost of that accident dictates the premium. In the case of dogs, the 'insurance' isn't really insurance at all, it's effectively a licence that is costed in the same way as car insurance is. The reason i say that is because it's purpose isn't to settle any accidents fairly (how can any amount of money be compensation fo

Because drug mules never try slipping out of Malaysia or the Philippines any more do they ..................people will always be tempted to juggle risk/reward thats human nature,my logic tells me removing that temptation is better for everyone. Of course, but compare that to a country with equal chance of getting caught but lighter sentencing? Where do YOU choose to do bussiness? If we want to remove temptation, lets just ban all pet ownership of dogs. The only people allowed to keep dogs are professionals that do essential jobs. Police, military, guide dogs, keepers. Amateur working d

So why don't we just ban all dogs, f**k it, that'll save babies lives. Completely ban the pet ownership of dogs un the UK. Got to be worth it right? You don't want to live in a world where laws are fair, well I do and frankly that's the whole point in a democracy. What do you think is a good idea then & keeping it fair for all the scrotes who wanna strut round with aggressive dogs? I've told you, harsher sentencing and harder enforcement. Gnasher gave an example of bank robberies, a 2 second google showed that in the UK bank jobs have dropped by 90% in the last decade which has been

Bank robberies have decreased, because it's just too hard to do now, there's far easier ways to make money, law enforcement & high prison sentences have always been there.

How many working class young drivers can afford anything more than a ten year old 1lt fiesta/corsa though? Then how many multi millionaires kids get a 200+bhp BMW as their first motor? The only difference is money, you're not taking the risk away by charging a huge sum, you're just reducing the number of potential accidents waiting to happen by pricing out the less wealthy. So no more poor babies being mauled just those from wealthy families. But their still paying over a £1000 a year regardless of the model, & will pay it regardless of background..........insurance on dogs won't price o

The thing is, all that compulsory insurance does is price the less wealthy out of it. It's a completely unfair means of reducing incidents. Do we see no car accidents with high risk groups because they have insurance? NO.... The sole purpose of insurance is to ensure accidents are resolved not avoided. It has the secondary effect of reducing accidents simply because it prices the less wealthy out completely. Legislation and strict enforcement prevents accidents in the first place in a fair way. It's really this simple, if your dog kills someone you do 30 years, if your dog disfigures someone t

A lot of good points here, certainly very hard to police but not impossible....... Always going to be the usual crowd whining about why 'they' should be penalised for others mistakes.......it's like whining about having to get a shotgun licence, because some are irresponsible with guns.....

if he was any good he would have been down it In a lot of cases id agree, yet some terriers mature more slowly than others and a dog that shows no interest to enter, especially if its un-educated,will thrive a few months down the line. The best fox dog i have here now showed little interest in earth work until it was 2 1/2 years old,a lot of people said to get rid before it was 2 years old,im glad i trusted my insticts, ive a Lakey here that was bolting fox,s at 12 months.Bedlingtons have an habit of being late developers, move the dog slowly along, give it every opportunity to develop and don,t
