  1. If you OWN an air rifle, your breaking the law. Lol. But you can own a FAC firearm. Under 18 you can only use an air rifle. It's not allowed to be yours. Not even if it's given too you or bought for you. It doesn't make sense too me. ATB
  2. Hi all Another question. I have just started walking my 11 week old Brittany on a lead. He is doing really well. I have a normal lead and collar on him at the moment but would prefer to use a slip lead. Any views would be useful? Is 11 weeks on a Brittany too soon ie cause problems with growing neck joints/muscles? Is it better to use slip lead an why? Advice appreciated Mark
  3. Afternoon all Would have posted this in the classified but wouldn't let me. I am after a few more training DVDs. I have a Brittany pup so anything suitable. Prefereably second hand or cheap as i have spent a lot already on DVDs. I think it would be interesting to see other ways and views on training. Cheers Mark
  4. Of work. I've spent ages reading and watching DVDs talking to people and Internet searching about the breed. I just want too do the best job for him. I hope he will be more than a retriever. But I don't want to aim too high for now. But hopefully he will be of a high standard when he's trained. For now its sowing the seed and putting in the hard work
  5. Cheers guys. I tend to tackle challenges head on. Everything I take on just so happens to be a lot
  6. Hi guys. I have a question. I have a 9 week old Brittany pup that I am training. He's the first working dog I have trained so I'm still learning myself. I want to use him for a bit of rough shooting, retrieving mostly. His training at 9 weeks is great. When not distracted he will recall well with a verbal command and also a hand signal. He will sit after a recall. He is just learning stay even an out of sight stay. Not for long though. So my question is. He has a teddy that he plays with. But he shakes it in his mouth from side to side. Now I know that this behaviour would be a massive problem
  7. I have a question. Me and my girlfriend have applied to join our local range, were also seeking permission to shoot on local land. We want fac and sgc. I want to know if we will be allowed to share a 5 gun safe. Each owning a registered firearm kept in the same safe. This would obviously mean that we both have access to the safe where eachothers firearms are kept. I should note we will be have a combined license. Or are we likely to expect the flo to insist we have separate safes? Thanks all
  8. Hi guys, im pretty new to the site and dont make many posts, choosing mostly to read through other posts to gather most information I need. I dont wish to block up the forum chat with simple questions but a question I can not find information on is how long does it take to join a target shooting club? I ask because I sent all the forms off over two months ago. i heard nothing and sent them a message. The response i got was they had several applications at once and they had sent the forms to the home office/police for approval. This was over a month ago and still have heard nothing from them
  9. Where about are you? We may be interested in a pup. I need to speak with the boss. Lol
