    Well, they say about mad dogs & Englishmen going out in mid-day sun, but the same crew are the only ones to go out in -2 degree cold. I picked up the Viper last week, took it out once and struggled with it. I tried walking round using it like a lamp, but it was no use, still spooked the rabbits. Mac had picked up his pulsar so we arranged a trip up mine last night. Frosty, cold, clear night. Bracing I think they call it. It was like walking on cornflakes by 10pm with the ground frost but Mac had made a couple of poly sheets for us to lay up on. They kept me dry, but good lord my nuts f

    Your lot will hear you coming a mile off ! Unless you've bought some new boots & learned to be bloody quite lol HAHA! Our lass bought me a new pair of Karrimore (however ya spell it). High top boots, thermal lined, like walking on cushions of air wrapped in cotton wool. Silent as a mouse me now haha!

    I had one night out with my new NV mate and its gonna be a battle. I can tell already. Arms never ached so much!! All that fannying around with the power too but it is good for NOT spooking them. My lot run on red lamps, now if they run, I know its down to my shite stalking skills!!

    Jesus Christ, that's me off for a spoon to yark me eyes out. Why would you do that? I'll never bloody sleep again, next time you want me to go "lay up" some place ye can gan shite!     3 fourteen year olds arrested in Chester-le-street for shooting a 12 year old with an air rifle. Left the .22 pellet stiuck in his forehead inches from his eye. I'd love 5 mins with the little pricks. The young lad was watching footy with his mates at his local park!

    Cheers Dave, yeah with his pissing, moaning, coughing, he doesn't half make a racket! haha. I am normally ok on my own, just often jack it sooner if it gets cold or goes quiet. Though last night I was walking through a field and spooked a flock of partridge, SHAT myself, didn't see em, just felt a load of em fly directly at me!

    I hate that, we went to Scotland for a weeks holiday, surrounded by farms....full of rabbits... we also went to Keilder Forrest........the holidya park was BOUNCING..... My mrs just looks at me and smiles, she knows exactly what I'm thinking! I often go to a place in Germany, Rothenkirchen, wayyyyyyyyyyy east, black forrest area, they do propper hunting, the hotel is actually a hunters lodge, full of deer heads and the most amazing venison!! Mmmmmm

    Yeah I was trying a similar thing, the problem is it was so damn unpredicatable. One of the misses the rabbit bent down to eat.... some was bad luck, but it really gets in your head!

    It was the shorter distances ironically that were worse! 25-35 yards I was missing. When I took the 2 long shots (because I was laying down and I couldn't really move without spooking them), the pellets flew straight as a die!

    Not often I go out on me todd, but Mac was stuck in and Matt is still crocked and away with work, so I took myself to the same spot Mac and I bagged 14 two week ago. I sorted the scope out and went to the first field, took 4 shots at 4 rabbits and missed the lot of em, shocking, barn doors and cows arses! Couldn't figure what was wrong. I went back to the car, got the targets out and checked my zero, spot on, no adjustment needed. I moved to a different field, and again, 2 shots 2 misses...wtf. I was about to jack it when I saw another rabbit and half heartedly went after it. It sa

    Cheers gents. JJM, sorry mate, these went to the butcher this time. I called him and asked how many I had to get, to get hi mout of bed Sunday morning, haha, he said 15 so we did OK. Mole, these 2 perms had mixy end last year early this year, but its amazing how fast they bounced back. The big field often had 50-100 rabbits on it, I was seeing 30-40 now, so picking back up. Should be good if we can stay mixy free for another 6 months.
