  1. nice little rifle! Great review but would like to see you shoot some in the review... 20 minutes is a very long time to listen to somebody talking. Gr Jacco
  2. Thanks guy's! Im so happy with it. Every time i pull the trigger it makes me smile.
  3. Hello, Have been a while since i asked about some information about the rws/rossler titan 6. After all i decided to buy a left titan 6 in .243 with a semi weight barrel. I was a bit afraid that the rifle would not meet my expectations. Maybe not accurate enough (some reviews say) or the overall quality bad. But im very pleased to say: Im soooo happy with this gun! it shoots <1cm groups at 100 meters with the winchester ballastic silvertip 95grain bullets. Cycling of the bolt is very very smooth. The wood is beautiful and very nice shaped. I now have shot it about 200 times at the r
  4. You shouldn't have too much trouble at 240 yards although very good shot for a kid. .22-250 can be shot out to 1,000 yards in expert hands and even a hobbyist should be able to make shots at 600-700 yards with a decent scope and tables. You'll find loads of Youtube vids of 500-750yd shots by amateurs at small targets. Maybe you're just underestimating your current skill level. Hello, Sure i can make a 700 yard shot. But not in Holland in a hunting situation. You know we don't have any hills its just a flat country so getting a nice elevated position and lay down with a good res
  5. Hello, Pheasant: Only shot one in my life with a mirage tungsten duck: Tunet passion 28gr nr5 GeeseTunet passion 28gr nr5 Hare: Tungsten (tunet 36gr 4 i like most) Rabbit Tunet passion 28gr nr 5 I have the tunet passion 28gr nr 5 as my standard hunting cartridge I have no other cartridge. Only for hare i use tungsten because steel shot can mess them up. Maybe some of you guy's would think that this cartridge is way to light for a geese. We also thought. When i was a kid we shot geese with nr1 or nr2 but the nr5 works just great. I never shot geese so high as with the tunets. They
  6. I have several memorable shots. Think the 240 yard shot with my dads .22-250 at a crow was the most memorable. Just a kid, could have a try at that crow because there was nothing else to be shot. A 6x42 scope, very strong wind. The rifle way to big for me. Could not make the shot now. But it dropped like a rock
  7. Hello, they have a spring that lets them turn on the wind. So no spring. I think these are better than the FUD decoys and indeed very light! Gr jacco
  8. Used them this afternoon. There are not much pigeons here but we shot 10. The best part: They came in great! All 10 would sit next to the decoy's so that a huge improvement since i could not get them to good decoying this year with the flocked decoys. Im very happy with them. They look great, From a distance you could not say if they were decoy's or real pigeons. Only the movement was a bit disappointing. They move a little bit but not as much as i would like. But again they do the job! Gr Jacco
  9. Sorry mate I don't agree you can use dead birds amongst the decoys , in fact that is exactly what to do to make your pattern more convincing. If you get sunshine, then start to remove your shells from the pattern as you build the pattern up with dead birds. Im out 4-5 days per week, so if it works I don't fix it, there are other shooters on my permission using whirleys and flappers but I still shoot more birds, starting with 12 simple shells and around 10 dead birds mixed in with them, I sometimes use 2 crows to one side of the pattern, if you put the crows too near then this will spoo
  10. Hello, I will never use a crow decoy in or close to the pigeon decoy pattern as it seems to scare them off (they wont fly over it) So if i use a crow i always make sure it has some distance from the pigeon decoys. I also don't mix different decoy's. Also no dead birds and decoys some pigeon fleed away at the last moment. Its fine to put the decoys at one side and dead birds on the other side or something similar. I don't know if its just bad luck or that they do see the differance but i don't take the gamble. Besides if you found the best decoy why would you mix? Last week i bough
  11. Hello, Just recieved my new pigeon decoy's. I have not tested them yet but they look quite nice! They are on a stick which lets them turn in the wind. Also they are very light and look quite strong to me. The pictures are a little bit overlightend (not sure if its the right word) In house they looked a bit to dark to me but outside they look very good. Gr Jacco
  12. I would go with the 455. It has a bipod on it and 400 rounds. So for 100 pound extra you are completely ready plus a much younger weapon. But the most important is: Which one do you like most? You need to buy a gun you feel good about. Gr Jacco
  13. HFT = Hunter field target right? The shooting on targets? Or is this just how its called in Holland? if it is HFT like we do and the rules are the same: No parrallax setting during the competition and no magnification setting. Then you would need a scope that has a great dept clear view. And a rangefinding reticle (mildot or so) So you can estimate the ranges. So you just need a simple scope which is clear at most hft ranges and has a good reticle. (i would try some and see what is the best)
  14. Will do, the mtc scopes have been tested using a .338 lapua so our .223s and 243s will be nothing against it. roy lupton has one one one of his rifles on fieldsport channel youtube so don't let the price put you off it they were 1000 quid people would have more respect for them. You're right! Roy lupton used one for a long time. And shot everything with it. If you don't want to spent to much money at a scope i would go with mtc. i would go with the viper or the 2.5-10x50 mamba i own. gr Jacco
  15. Sako 85 Varmint Laminated Stainless available in Left Hand: http://www.sako.fi/pdf/specs/85VarmintLaminatedSS.pdf Heavy barrel and wood stock. If you don't want stainless or laminate then the plain version is available left handed also: http://www.sako.fi/pdf/specs/85Varmint.pdf I have a friend who has a friend with a .223 and he says its a tack driver at 300 yards. Are you sure it is available in left hand? The way i look at the pdf it is not. Because behand righthand/ it says: xs and s (action) and lefhand has a - If you look at the different models they all say
  16. Hello, thats not how i came to order this weapon. First of course i read the reviews and tests and they were all positive, then i started looking at german topics which also where good. So i ordered the gun. But then on english forums i started to notice some bad reviews. But also some good ones. So i was just asking for more reviews. If i had the money i would have bought a sako. But here in Holland there is another 500 euro diffence between the two. Also i asked about a left handed sako and the gunsmith told me it was not available in varmint.
  17. Hello, Another horror story in my eyes. Since im a lefty i dont have much choiche in rifles. I looked at the tikka t3 but really liked a heavy barrel with a wood stock in lefthanded. So i ended up with the titan. How long ago you had the titan? I see more bad revieuws on them but most of them are more then 3 years old. Gr Jacco
  18. Hey, Just look in the rifle topic. YOu willl see lots of mtc scopes. So i guess they do fine at a centrefire
  19. I don't like the mountmaster either. Better save some more money and buy a bit better scope. You will never regret that! i have good experiences with the hawke panorama. And looked at the varmint sf thats also a good scope! (i like SF more than AO) Also the optisan/MTC scopes are very good for the money. I have a optisan mamba but also looked through a viper, mamba lite, cobra, they all seem very clear. ON what rifle is de scope being mounted? I would never put anything less than above scopes at a rimfire or airgun. I personally don't think the scopes above are good enough for long ran
  20. Hello, I always use this site: http://www.printtargets.net/ Here you can make youre own targets just the way you like it. Gr Jacco
