A good percentage of fox and badger will be holed up at the moment with young, so not so many running around to get hit. Pheasants getting territorial now and they love a roadside verge and picking grit etc of the roads. Thick as shit to mind !

Please correct me if I'm wrong but if it was not for livestock and game birds you wouldn't be putting a terrier to ground at all. Also could someone show me where it say or has ever been written what the FOX season is ? Is it like deer where there is a buck/stag , doe/hind season or just certain months when it is not legal to control them ?

They tried to but they were killed by red kites, pine martins. gos hawks, buzzards,otters ,polecats,sea eagles and one nest was destroyed when a tree fell on it by a beaver Now your just being silly, everybody knows a buzzard will only take carrion !! -
Irishman, if you were in the area I live at lambing time and the shepherds hit you round the ear with every lamb killed by a fox you would be a very sore man. I've been to holes the terrier couldn't get in for carcasses, watched a pair of foxes torment and distract a ewe until one of them killed her twins and witnessed one chewing the head of a lamb while being born. Thank god they don't kill many pheasants belter.

A mate of mine used a heat lamp in his outside kennels. We were off out and when we hit on to a bit of phone signal he had a message telling him to get home asap as his kennels were on fire !!! When we got back we found 2 dead jack russell pups and a dead lab. Only saving grace for him was the block of 6 other kennels were 15 feet away. For me, if your kennels/bedding are good enough your dogs will be fine. -
