    they eat guinea pigs in peru ---- have a look on google images ------------Modena pigeons are a good sized meaty pigeon that look nice ... as for rabbits my old man used to breed new Zealand whites and californian giants for meat.... thanks for that. I was just thinking that rabbits, guinea pigs and pigeons breed quickly and prolifically, don't eat too much or find most of the food themselves.

    thanks for that. I had thought of racers as they are so easy to get hold of. I do have an air rifle, but I just cant shoot enough!! I have also thought about doing rabbits for meat. while im thinking of it, has anyone tried guinea pig? no, seriously, I am interested in the idea!!!!! thanks again for the replys and keep them coming.

    I am interested In keeping pigeons, but, like all the animals I keep they would have to pay their way and meat sounds the best way. if anyone could point me to a good breed and possibly a breeder it would be very much appreciated.

    don't talk about myco! once had to shoot about 15 hens for a friend. I saved some but the others were too far gone

    its crap how no one speaks to your face about problems instead they go running round to council .i went round my neighbors last night and lucky enough they said that it was fine so if i can get the two next door neighbors on side(by supplying them with eggs) or better still 2 or 3 doors ether side then i suppose if anyone else complains i could argue that they were just been malice as it doesnt affect the house closes to me so there for couldn't affect houses further away from me .........so to speak. been having problems myself. as long as it is not over 90 decibels than you are ok. huma

    ive heard that the shells from the duck eggs can poison chicks or something like that ,..........well I had two chicks from three chicken eggs and I have six fertile duck eggs and two goose eggs left ,...........I took the chicken chicks out straight away and there good under the heat lamp now there is nothing wrong with having them in the same incubator as long as they are due to hatch at the same time as otherwise the humidity will be messed up for either the ducks or the chickens. a friend of mine has just had ducks hatch in the same incubator as chickens and all was fine.

    50/50 bleach and hot water, and if you have a blowtorch have a quick run round with it, and I don't mean use it like an Olympic torch.

    Nearly shot my mate in the foot once with a pistol whilst shooting chickens. it was my first gun and I was named the knacker man by my mates as I used to shoot their old chickens for ferret food. the best way I find to keep safe is to get a gun with a safety catch which is like a second trigger(don't know the technical term!)
