  1. Yeah moxy it's classed as a firearm still but for FAC air you just get a open ticket.

  3. In Wilts, you get a open ticket for air rifles. Meaning you can shoot anywhere you have permission as long as you deem it safe to do so.
  4. The Swaroski BRX reticle is great. With a really nice clear glass
  5. Hi guys I'm looking to spend a bit of money on the Sako Quad. I'm looking at the Sako Quad Range with optilock mounts. Can any one give me any feed back? How's the accuracy? How easy is the barrel change? How far does the POI change if you are to take the barrel off and put the same one back on again? Is the barrel serialised or the action? To that end if I had .22wmr and .17hmr barrels how does it show on my certificate? Cheers Craig
  6. I used to use the OGIVE in my MK4 before I went FAC and they were brilliant. They were extremely accurate. Also the hydrostatic shock they caused was terrific. Not cheap competed to other well known brands but I never dropped a shot whilst out hunting.
  7. Yeah CZ rifles are all generally very nice. There is a CZ premium too as well which is beautiful so they are starting to really make some beautiful rifles. The .303 is amazing as a air rifle. At 50 yards on a fox from a hide is awesome. The trauma it causes is phenomenal. I'm off to the states end of April to shoot Coyote with it, and again in August.
  8. Yeah the hydrostatic shock for .17 HMR at sub 100 yards is more than adequate on a fox. It's just the wind and POI you have to watch for. I wouldn't use it if your not confident in reading adjustments in even the slightest bit of wind. The .17 HMR is a nice little tool. I never got on with 22LR it's just not my thing. I have a Daystate wolverine .303 which delivers the same performance as a .22LR just a slightly bigger round and group size tends to be better.
  9. You might be write, in my mind once bitten twice shy. I'm pretty sure I saw a few things on here about hey terrible they were
  10. São the Bushnell Legend HD in Sportsmagnum is £200
  11. I'm swooping out all my MTC's now. Just not what they made to be. Cheap and cheerfull but not as good as they could be. The MK4 will get a Bushnell Legend Ultra 4.5-14 Mildot The Wolverine 303 will get a Swarovski 4-12 Z3 BRX reticle. I'm a firm believer in glass before the rifle.
  12. No in plane text. The latches go easily they are noisy when opening the legs. And the legs aren't always level so unless your buying a tilt one it cants the rifle. Harris are brilliant, for the extra money you get true quality. I'd get a Harris 9-13 tilt.
  13. I wouldn't send a turd through parcel force. They lost a rifle I'd sold last year to a pal of mine. Insurance covered but the rifle had lots of work done to it with cost around £300 plus the cost of the rifle. Their customer services were shocking. I rang around trying to find it. And at one point was put on hold, they thought I was any way. I could here them mocking me. Rage is not the word. Steer as far clear as possible
  14. Not zeroed but the sight picture must be full and not canted. When I got back to Blighty I'll write a full article on the specifics etc
  15. Yeah we normally use our effective pack of terriers. But a cattle shed on our permission is proving difficult by design to get rid of the problem. Shooting, Ratting and poising are now all exhausted
  16. Ok I know nothing about ferreting so I'm going to ask here. Can a ferret kill a rat or even be used for rat control? In theory in the wild it would be fair game.
  17. Velik good post, glad you've posted on here. Hope to get out and shoot those wolves again this year. Guys this is a amazing hunting oppourtunity and flights from the UK are around £170 when I went.
  18. Sorry forgot to mention it's IC = Lithium Ion Colbalt LM = Lithium Magnesium There's not a lot between them and I'm not going to bore you with the psychics as it only applicable in millitary application. To do with power density and IMR is the best. But general broad brush terms, both will work well in the LED application your using it for.
  19. Yeah pretty much. mAh stands for milli amp hours. The higher the number the longer it takes to drain down. Make sure you get a good digital charger which will safely balance out the charge cycle meaning it will last longer. The top ones will do 5000+ charge cycles.
  20. I spent a few days shooting the coypus in Oregon last year, sitting on the bank crammed up like a bloody duck hunter. Used a AR80, some bloody good shooting.
  21. I shot a few feral cats in my time with a FAC (30lb) air rifle in point .22 We bait them, let the cat drop it's head down to feed then head shot. At sensible air rifle ranges and FAC power it's more than adequate. Iv considered using .25 FAC but iv seen the pellet through and through too many times so has been known to cause dramas and further damage to the out buildings. I like the .22 FAC as it's quite and tends not to spook the other ferrals.
  22. That's a bloody good shout lads, iv ordered a NM800 with red pill
  23. I could never get the bismags to group on my MK4 FAC. If you got a bit left try the JSB 18gr, wouldn't even call it a group, pellet on pellet at 45 yards
  24. Yeah it's visiable, ensure you cover up everything hands and face. Pigeons have excellent vision. Few decoys generally facing into the wind (in a non uniformed pattern) And sit and wait....once a pigeon is shot it's good to use it as a decoy too placing it down and propping it's head up with a stick. Ensure you pick up any scattered feathers ....this will mean danger to the flying in pigeons .
