  1. I will get in touch with the people you sent me details for thanks Blaise, I am sure I can find some rats around the buildings. Are the coypu worthy sport to dig?
  2. All my kits are handled in the nest with the Jill present every day from 2 weeks old, as they start to open their eyes I lift them away from the Jill again every dayand handle them as the Jill feeds, she seems to appreciate the time off! By eight weeks all my kits come to the hand to be handled and tummy scratched, never had a nippy kit since.
  3. I think leaving my terrier at home for the digs is what I was thinking anyway and just watch the dig ......was just gonna try her bolting fox as she doesnt mix it and can be called out and use her mainly on rats and coypu, I do have the option of leaving her over there and fetching her back on a later day if need be. Will post some photos and let u know how I get on.
  4. Tb25, the badgers (blaireau) are exactly the same and the place is teeming with them and foxes (renard). I will say all the foxes I have seen do seem to be slighter in size and darker red than ours in uk, but this might not be the case across France.

The digging is a more organised activity similar to traditional hunting in this country ran by the local venerie sous terre I think it's called. You can dig as an individual if all the requirements of the permit are met, rabbits aren't that common due to the enormous buzzard population and coursing is banned I think. The coypu (ragondin) are a fair game for terriers I believe, and you do have the
  6. Thanks Fish, Ive been over there loads of times but never hunted, seen the French working the hounds through the maize fields i assume flushing boar to the guns, but its the opportunity to legally dig that I am looking forward to again!
  7. I am taking my Plummer over to France next weekend for a couple of weeks to hopefully do some hunting. My inlaws have a rural farmhouse in a place called Adriers, mid west. They have some land with a large lake and outbuildings, I also have access to the farms in the area too. I am hoping to do some ratting and maybe have a pop at the local Ragondin (coypu) population on the lake and surrounding lakes too. Thanks to Blaise who has also put me in touch with the master of the local terrier men as the fox and badger season is in full swing too so hoping for a trip or two out digging with the loca
  8. There is absolutely no need to worm ferrets at all...ever!!
  9. You really need to get them sorted one way or another to avoid health problems.
