Thanks all just got Sam now but as said 15 and a half years of bloody great memories will always remember digging a vixen with my old black dog Zak was a year old and being a whippet I thought bugger it I'll tie him up out of the way and let the bull cross do the job ,when the little bugger chewed his lead pushed down the hole and came out with the fox jaw to jaw what a dog now for a replacment Stoaty

Hi lads and lasses just back from the vets my old timers not been so good lately so it was time to let him go.Had him 15 and a half yrs i was there when he was born and he passed away in my arms not ashamed to say I broke my heart.He did all I asked of him and took all quarry except deer.R.i.p fella Stoaty
  5. my old dog caught rabbits on the rubble and wire or an old colliery site as I said I was young and stupid the dog had the best feet I had ever seen and how the hell he run this ground I'll never know he was my constant companion and I could not of put it any better than JPT has . Stoaty

Hi all my old dog long since gone collie greyhound x whippet back to laguna whippet he learnt me more than I ever could him would mark,ferret,bush,work with gun and took lots of different of different quarry and never bottled a great kids dog got me into working lurchers hook line and sinker some dog sadly missed Stoaty

Hi lads and lasses my old whippet dog isn't too good these days (hes 15 and a half) and I fancy a broken coated or rough dog to replace him.Would love to hear anyones opinions that have worked either crosses .I thought a half cross might not have the pace whats your thoughts?? I was very very interested in sowhats litter of beddy grey to whip x grey (but alas bitch didn't catch ) Would love your pics and finding of these breeds and is anyone breeding pups in the future?? all the best Stoaty the old whippet

  13. my bull cross had an hole like that between the pads and straight through the bottom of the foot I had him jabbed with pennicilyn and washed with salty water and now its healing well this was about 3 or 4 weeks ago and its suprising how quick it heals .Dont be tempted to let him off the lead until it closes as skycat says Stoaty

Hi Mike shes still a pup build her trust and get her coming when called and retrieving a tennis ball etc for now.Let her mature and dont be in no rush to start or you might get a yapper.When you think shes ready 10 months at least for me even with a quick maturing dog like a whippet try and find a nice squatter out in the field and stalk her as close as you can when it makes a run slip her and cross your fingers Stoaty

Try resting him beddi and for while just walk him on the lead on his own so he doesn't get to excited and wound up with the other dogs about. my bull cross hit a slab of stone chasing a fox and I thought it had smashed his shoulder but it was just badly bruised and needed a couple of stitches.If you don't think its improving take him to the vets Stoaty

  22. cant beat good old road walking to get them fit that why the greyhound blokes do it used to walk mine miles and then give them a rub down when the get home pads harden ,keeps nails down and gets the dog ripped and fit (unlike me) Stoaty
