deer, I had to cut the picture right down because it was to big for the iPhone to upload. -
Mate of mine shot this one day, better off dead I think.

Good pics as always, they will shouting about summer hunting next.

I don't think he was proving any thing just showing that they are capable. You can't rap them up in cotton wool. Wouldn't want to see my dog laid up but he will run over any thing. Working rough ground makes a dog steadier and more sensible. My dog excels in hard conditions.

Nice to see the old ones being looked after they have done there graft for you, I know of lads who send them to the stars once there finished with them or put one foot wrong. W##kers

Be careful on that type of ground you know what whippets are like lol.
-
Lets see your old fellas that have reached the end of a good working life and have served you proud.

Small Lurchers On Deer Pre Ban !!!!
Early riser replied to lurcherandterriemanchris's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
i like all dogs of all flavours but my favourite is the bigger dog 27+ I just like watching a big dog work, speed turning just the pure effort of them, but I've also seen a 19" beddy wip take fallow and regular as you like. Reason is because it can. But still rather the bigger type Lurcher, once has hold it's in the bag. If only we could still do this. once a big lurcher has got hold it dont mean its in the bag. imo with large deer it aint in the bag until its dead, seen deer get pulled over and still manage to get up and go. unless the dogs got a decent grip/bite they cant always hold them. -
thanks bird.
