  1. Last night I went out with a friend for a night of shooting, we started the evening clearing rabbits up with the .22LR's, even after all these years it's still hard to beat the .22LR At approx 23:30 we packed the .22LR's up and switched to .17Hornets for some fox control, after 3 minutes of squeaking we had two sets of eyes charging at us My friend took the first fox out with his .17Hornet and sniper cam, the second fox run off, but after giving it another little squeak it made the mistake of stopping to look back.... I had my .17Hornet on the shooting sticks in positio

  7. Last Friday I went to assist a friend with a problem fox with my CZ527 .17 Hornet. We arrived at the permission at 18:00 and got set up under a tree 250 yards from edge line where fox as been spotted, we then baited up 100 yards away from tree on a route the fox had been making, we also placed the fox pro near bait area for extra backup. We waited a
  8. After years with the 40g winchester subs I switched to CCI last year, but I've not been happy recently and they've been a bit erratic, after checking all usual causes and still no improvement I grabbed a mixture of rounds including Eley, RWS, winchester 40g + winchester 42g. To my surprise the Winchster 42g we're the most consistent in my rifle (anschutz 1417) so I've now switched to these, I was then curious of the drop compared to the 40g, knowing it wouldn't be much, but couldn't find the BC info anywhere online so I made contact with Winchester. I've since had a response from Winc

  16. Obviously minimal recoil, if none existent at all, so it should be manageable. What kind of accuracy are you managing? Edited to add: Cracking looking rifle by the way! I use a 1" black dot at range and all groups we're within the dot, if I'm honest I don't measure below 1", if I'm within 1" I'm happy First 50 rounds we're a little erratic but I was cleaning barrel after each shot when running barrel in which I expected
