  1. I've placed a deposit on a Anschutz 1417 with a friend until my ticket arrives, hopefully sometime in 2013 One problem I've noticed with the gun is a missing screw from the stock (see picture attached), I've called all local shops + browsed internet, a couple have informed me they can supply the parts but need the item number etc. With this information I downloaded the user manual for the 1417 and expected to see 1 screw, but instead discovered several parts linked to this area which has confused me even more.... see list below: Countersunk oval head screw ISO 2010 - M4 x 18 Coun
  2. Thanks for advise mate, I Called round all local shops today but none could assist, i'll have to start searching the internet a bit more in depth

  5. Well I’ve just had a visit from the FAO for my interview and to check two of my permissions out for the .223 with land not being passed, what a nice guy provided me with loads of useful information and I can now relax, I’ve had all rifles + Mods accepted on my first application…...22RF / .17MHR / .223 + SGC I sent applications off 2 weeks so not taken long to sort, said up to 6 weeks for ticket though so Just got to sit back and wait for ticket to arrive now well happy
  6. Could any of you kind people let me know the best place to order parts for anschutz .22 RF in the UK please I'm still awaiting my ticket but I'm purchasing the rifle off a friend once it arrives, I've had a look at the gun and it's in very good condition with the exception of a missing screw, i'm not an expert but there is x3 screws holding trigger etc in place and x1 is missing. I'd like to have screw ready for once I collect in future weeks / months. It's a anschutz .22LR 1417 B/A.
  7. Good luck mate, I had same prob but I've now got 5 permissions :-) Letters didn't work for me, but created some flyers and the permissions just keep coming, I put some examples on a post a while back mate if you want to check it out in future. Good luck again !!!!
  8. Got my visit sorted just two weeks after sending application off, impressed :-)
  9. I've ended up going for the Anshcutz .22 Bolt Action, a friend is saving it for me on his ticket until mine is sorted, hopefully not too much longer
  10. This morning I had my first experience with shotguns in the field and I’m hooked already, totally different to what I’m use to and had so much fun, I joined a friend on some of his land removing some squirrels. He started off and was picking one after another from the tree’s, I really enjoyed watching him at work, he then passed the gun over, I walked for about 2mins and spotted a squirrel at the top of a tree, I took the shot and was so happy to watch it fall straight from the tree, my first kill with a shotgun. My SGC can’t come quick enough now, so much easier than using the rifle
  11. yep once they see your avatar you may be waiting a while I'm now bald, the avatar was from my younger years so hopefully they won't recognise me. :-)

  14. I've just applied for .223 for fox, my first application too, I think i'll struggle with .223 never mind .243 but I'll just have to wait and see. I've also applied for .22 and 1.7HMR. Good luck
  15. What did you expect? Why bother asking the BASC if you intend to ignore them? I called for advice with something else on the application and mentioned I'd got all google maps etc printed off which started the conversation, I expected Consistency, not that i've chosen to ignore BASC, to be honest they were very helpful with all other info, just confused due to me speaking to another advisor at BASC previous week who advised me to add maps, surly they should all be passing the same info over. Anyway I've sent if off now with maps so no drama
  16. Cheers for info mate, but its already on route now, might have it sorted for 2015 then haha. And the HW100 went last night gutted mate lost loads of money on it but no other options, I'm sure it will all be worth it in the end.
  17. Well I've finally send my application off for Firearms + Shotgun certificate today, Gun safe has been ordered and I’ve got first offers on a friends dads set up due to him retiring. (Once I get ticket) Had some interesting conversations today though, called BASC firearms helpline whilst filling application out and they advised me to add just add one permission to application one with most land and keep it simple, I’d printed Google maps and put a pack together covering everything which I thought was a good idea, the gent at BASC said don’t bother if they start requesting everyone does t
