  1. Thanks mate, Saying that i'm skint now, bad enough getting money together for rifles, then start adding mounts, scopes, ammo the bank balance is scary, can't even afford any more ammo for .223 till pay day Just a good job i'm stocked up on the .22 ammo Shotgun's next on my shopping list though mate, it was a toss up which to get first but went for .223.
  2. Job done, bit of soapy water and popped straight out
  3. Looks like a visit to the kitchen sink, thanks again mate
  4. Can any of you guy's help ?? I've just gone to strip the sak mod on the .22 and give it a clean, I've cracked the end open with spanner and removed it, I was hoping inners would just slide out, do I need to do anything else or just apply some force
  5. I need to get a cleaning rod and all gear mate before I can clean at home, maybe should of been more prepared.
  6. It's a good set up mate, I wasn't 100% sure but suppose it won't of done any damage. I was just gutted I didn't take more ammo after driving all that way. He advised zeroing in at 1" over @ 100 yards so set up for zero at 200. Looking forward to getting out now.
  7. Just crazy when your spending big money mate, got some good advice today though, just need to get kitted out now.
  8. Took my new Rifle to Carton Moor Shooting Range to set it up this afternoon, arrived with just one box Hornady superformance 53gr, the team working there were very helpful and when I told him the Rifle was new he said it would need bedding in, he then talked me through process and started assisting me. He started off by running a rod with copper remover on a patch through the barrel, and then a clean patch until clear, he then asked me to fire one bullet through and repeated this process for 3 shots, he then asked me to fire 3 shots back to back and then repeated the cleaning process four
  9. Off to Carlton Moor Range today to zero new rifles in

  10. Look forward to it mate, sorry you can't make it tomorrow, I'm off work and I'm passing so thought it would be rude not to throw rifles in boot and set them up, guy in shop bore sighted the .223 so hopefully it won't cost me a fortune to zero in
  11. I decided after months to go for the tikka super varmint .223, and Anchutz 1417 .22. I got the Anchutz of a friend, and the Tikka from shooters world in mexborough, it's closest to me and he beat most of others shops in price about £90 cheaper. Some said super is too heavy but I'm a big lad and feels perfect, but if I was 5,1" and feather weight I'd of gone for light version.
  12. Haha I'm in Donny mate weather not good, picked licence up this morning shortly followed by rifles, I was like a kid in a candy shop in local shop. There all tucked away in the safe, hopefully get out tomorrow ?
  13. My new Rifles, Anchutz 1417 .22 with bushnell Elite & Tikka T3 super varmint .223 with Nikon pro staff
  14. I've just the called office for an update, it's not been posted out yet, but wait for it........ I'm ok to collect in person from office tomorrow :notworthy: :notworthy:
  15. Still no sign of it.... I can feel my blood pressure going through the roof :wallbash: I've booked Wednesday, Thursday, Friday off work, could be wishful thinking but I'm hoping this time tomorrow I've got a smile on my ugly mush
  16. I'm going to test a few types mate, hopefully it'll like the cheaper brand, until I get to the reloading stage in future at least
  17. Like the sound of reloading, look forward to the lesson
  18. Checked with local RFD and he stocks Hornady superformance 53g, £20 a box so I'll make sure I test.
  19. That's great news. Was he a fellow called John? We're up as far north as you can get, on the borders with East Yorkshire. Our land is very remote, smack in the middle of farmland, nothing within at least 500 yards. Doncaster's about a 25 minute drive away, and that's the closest town. I asked my uncle who's in the police, and he said that we shouldn't have any problems with the application whatsoever. Yes he was John who did my visit and walked permissions mate
