  1. Get some freerange exlayers they'llstill lay afew, where in the country are ya I have access to a few and can get you some
  2. I'd keep the best stag and kill the cock
  3. The point I was trying to make is that where fowl are concerned oeg is simply a name given to a type, perhaps thats why it's abreviated? There are plenty of fowl that don't have the word game in thier title which are, asil, o shamo, taiwan etc and they're all gamefowl, a name is a name and handsome is as handsome does. I don't keep oeg I keep gamefowl and have no desire to keep oeg in either carlisle or bantam form but the names won't change now regardless of any discussions that may occur on here
  4. i thought it was bulldogs that were used on bulls, not bull terriers. bull terriers are called this because they are a cross of bulldogs and terriers, hence the name, and oeg banties shoudlent be called game because they were never used in cockfighting So therefore with your example you have given if you cross another bird with a gamecock you can give it the prefix or suffix of game then?
  5. Whats in a name, bull terriers aren't used on bull's anymore but theyr're still called bull terriers
  6. If not get a toothbrush and work some benzyl benzoate in thats good stuff or yellow sulphur mixed with vaseline
  7. They do indeed carry the lethal gene
  8. I couldn't believe how well feathered most of the oxfords were, there was over 40 and mine are falling to bits at the moment
  9. I agree but can someone tell him where his caps lock is
  10. I've got a siskin mule in the house,I wouldn't say its finch noted but that may be down to training ( I didn't breed it) and not sure how I could improve it but it sings a bit when it feels like it,any advice on how to improve its song would be good but after 12 months it may be too late?
  11. I've keep them but sounds like there's some nearer to you
  12. I'm not wasting a stamp on you tell me over the phone
  13. I agree Duckwing for hardfeather it is a bad time for showing but its only a section of a larger agricultural show and therefore is more of a display/attraction than a die hard showman event, that said I usually get a good few entries of one sort or another and there's a good number of softfeather and ducks. I could get them to move it to November but I don't think the Horticultural entry would be very strong DUCKWING Chris
  14. I run a poultry show which is a small section of Minsterley Show schedules can be downloaded from the website, there's also a dog show there on the same day so some of you could combine the two perhaps? I know some of the gamefowl lads may not be big showmen but its a nice day out and I've got a good friend of mine D Hackett judging who some of you will know, there's also a couple of respectable softfeather lads judging. http://minsterleyshow.org.uk/index.html cheers
  15. he has been known to talk sense a couple of times Jasper
  16. I still reckon a toppy would crush more quail eggs than it hatched jmo
  17. I wouldn't use a bantam to hatch quail, you'd need a really small breed and then for the ammount they'd hatch at a time it wouldn't be worth it,save yourself the hassle and buy the quail in if you don't feed it that often
  18. These are the only pics i've got of my tie cords at the moment, they're from the states but may give some pointers as they're easy to make once you know what should be where,I think the point Duckwing is trying to make is that you need to be 110% sure that the tie cords hold a bird otherwise if just 1 gets off it'll get messy,he's just not very subtle
  19. Perhaps you could post a pic of a decent one Duckwing,my cameras not working. Do you not have any fowl now then?
  20. I don't know the brand but I give Moll mine and its a cheap economical way of rearing chicks
  21. Red mite live in the coop.northen mite live on the birds arse mainly but can move about the body, lice live on the skin and are a honey golden colour,if these are what you've got they are the easiest to kill a quck spray and they're done chris
