  1. My first love, Gingers. Got best Ginger at the first club show I went to
  2. Astanleys post on art work got me thinking about gamefowl items i have collected over the years. I really like collecting pictures etc on things I'm interested in, if you walk into my house, by the pictures, books, and ornaments you can tell a lot about what I like. So I thought if I post some pictures of what I have it may be of interest to some ..... Herbert Atkinson prints
  3. I have 6 of James' paintings, he's an absolute genius I don't attend shows much nowadays but I do miss seeing him and Harry!
  4. Silkies are also a bad breed for mareks. I've not seen it since I was a lad but the pullets used to get it when they started laying, I guess it manifests itself through stress a bit?
  5. Thank you, so as long as I use a finch cd and keep the young out of hearing of my cock canaries they should be ok. They're a proven pair and have raised young before
  6. Hi all, I've been given a cinnamon redpoll cock and a satinette hen for muling, would the progeny sing much?
  7. Socks is quite correct an incubator anywhere near a fridge, freezer or any piece of electrical equipment that gives off a dull vibration will kill the embryos even if it's only for a short period each day

  10. No they won't the fowl will kill them
  11. Ask a local broiler farmer if you can buy a few chicks when they come in
  12. You can call it Lemon or Custard pyle, is it dun bred?
  13. http://www.cyril-bason.co.uk/#/meat-birds/4542116697
  14. The best advice I can give you is read up on red mite, most new chicken keepers don't realise they have it until it's too late and make/buy a chicken coop that's practical, the easier it is to keep clean the better YIS
  15. They live wild around here think they were released onto a shoot nearby YIS
  16. Spanish aren't a table breed I had a good line of Dominican Spanish game for a while, they used to come about 4lb in weight, Spanish Game should be a small active bird and not too big or they've probably been crossed with Oxfords or Yanks. They're smart little fowl, give the young plenty of room or they'll kill each other by the time they're 12 weeks old YIS
  17. About time who lost a few? Glad your mate did well.
  18. They'll be fine in with the fowl if ther is enough room, what no one has mentioned yet is runners lay like f****n engines and will put your chickens to shame
  19. Well unless he's got the best Rhodies in the country which I doubt he has (otherwise he wouldn't be asking for info on here) it won't be a priceless brood hen
  20. How would you like some feker ringing your neck or twating you on the feking head if you had piles, you would not like it would you? It hasn't got piles it's prolapsed, one is swolen blood vessels the other is it's intestines coming through it's anus!
  21. I would say the same, its pretty inevitable it will happen again in the future when it tries to lay at some point cheers
  22. Joel use Eprinex, still Ivermectin based but has no withdrawl period, you can give fowl 1/2ml on the back of the neck
  23. Depends what the floors made out of
  24. I would disagree on both counts
