When you say Spanish, I presume you mean Spanish game? I used to breed these and unless they're given plenty of space, free range if possible they will eat eggs and definately kill their chicks. After all that if you keep the chicks in too small an area they kill each other too! They can be a headache but at the same time they are some of the most fun birds I have ever kept and will give you lots of pleasure

I've had good results I feel with eprinex but mainly based on external pests and I give 1/2ml per bird on the back of the neck. I lime my ground which I think probably deals with internal pests and I try not to overstock generally 1 bird per pen unless I'm breeding or rearing.

Some strains mature quicker than others and while I agree with some of the above advice handling can give confidence in a bird but only time can give maturity. Also try not to give in to whims and fashions, as Duckwing has said a show is basically one mans opinion and as long as your happy with what you have regardless of any cards or rosettes the best birds in the show are the ones you are taking home

I totally agree Duckwing, I think there was a degree of artistic licence in Atkinsons paintings, I appreciate them nonetheless. I shall try and post some more over the weekend. I'm moving and downsizing next month, christ knows where I'm going to put everything
