  1. Good morning people, I was wondering whether or not there are any Airgun clubs in County Durham. I am shooting the hft in Sheffield and would prefers kemp range time prior. I usually set targets out on my permissions but would prefer a range to gain a finer zero. Any advice welcome, all the best. Nathan
  2. Good morning fellow shooters, I have recently reconditioned, deburred and polished an old hw35. When I got the rifle it came fitted with the standard leather piston seal which was dry and cracked, so I bought a piston head converter and fitted the new ptfe synthetic piston seal, after having it chronod it is a steady 9.5 I was wondering whether this will increase once the seal gets bedded in. I'm looking to get it shooting between 10.8 and 11.5 and ideas on how I could achieve this, I know that the hw35 isn't renowned for its power and are infact difficult to boost. Any advice w
  3. Hi there, There are clear pros and cons of both here a a few; Bottle pros 1- quickness in filling 2- no effort required Bottle cons 1- needs testing 2- requires storage 3- expensive Pump pros 1- no testing required 2- very portable Pump cons 1- VERY VERY VERY hard work!!!!!! 2- practicality vs cost ratio 3- takes much longer than bottle to fill Hope this helps a little, ps if money isn't an issue go for the bottle and if you do one tip; BUY NEW!! Compressed bottles of air can be extremely dangerous especially if it has incurred a hairline fr
  4. If it was up to me, I would put a tiny bit more money and buy a BSA ultra, this gun is is a treat for small vermin and worth every penny, iv owned one along side my hw97kt as a pcp backup and I havnt experienced any issues in 2 year.
  5. Hi skot, Many target shooters use a tool to maintain consistency which involves placing the pellet in the breech then using this tool to make sure it is sat properly
  6. Hi, Those targets look pretty good, I was speaking to my old man the other day and he said when he was shooting he would use teaspoons, flatten em out and bend a loop I the other end and hung them over a dowel. They act like spinners I'm gunna Give it a go and post the pics so you can see what I mean ATB Nathan
  7. Hi there If the logun mk2 carbine is anything to mark it by I would say "utterly unbelievable gun". The S16 seems to get a lot of stick for some reason, admittedly it is not the finest PCP on the market and this is reflected in the price but if your looking for a reliable PCP ideal for plinking and ratting this gun is for you, why take a 1200 pound daystate ratting or plinking Hope this sort of helps Nathan
  8. Hi there, The basic principle is as follows, .177 = straighter trajectory (path of pellet from bore) but less impact due to less mass .22 = more curved trajectory but increased stopping power I personally prefer .22 but many shooters use .177 due to the reason mentioned, for vermin such as rabbits and corvids .22 will be more than sufficient. It is more important to mach the right pellet to your chosen gun, trial and error but you will know when you get it right Hope this helps [BANNED TEXT] Nathan

  10. Good evening guys, I was wondering whether or not any of you fellow shooters have ever "set" their pellets and if so did it make a difference. I was also wondering how to make one. Any advice will b useful. Cheers, Nathan
  11. Hi secretagentmole, I know they are cheap that's why I thought "I've got nothing to loose" if it hadn't worked or if it started to dissolve it I would just order one. Experimenting with things like this helps me understand how it works I will however bare that in mind in future. Perhaps the moly paste broke the detergent down a little :/. Cheers Nathan
  12. He guys nathan again, Just a quick post, I have recently acquired a hw35k and have extensively restored it, one of the things that I needed to do was to replace the breach seal. After removing it I noticed that it wasn't in bad nick but felt slightly hard. So I decided to try an experiment to re condition it and here's what I did. 1- cleaned off the excess gunk 2- mixed together equal parts moly grease and liquid detergent 3- left the seal in it overnight 4- took it out the next day and cleaned it off 5- take a plastic party cup and put a tsp of petroleum jelly in it 6- take

  17. Hi guys, I have recently brought back to life a hw35. I have worked on it extensively, some of the things I have done include full debur new mainspring, buttoned piston (after extensive polishing), piston seal conversion, breech seal replacement, full rebluing of the metal work and lastly a full stock restoration and it looks and shoots like the finest rifle ever made my problem is when I first got the gun it struggled to stick into a 3x3 post, now that I have worked on it, it passes through it!!!! Which is obviously not good. Can anyone help me get it chronod in Tyne and Wear or County Durha
