  1. Cheers woodga, tryed to loading a few and they really didn't go so well, must be doing it wrong, don't get enougth round on the hoop and when I try again or put to much pressure on the first time it just warps the wire :/ It definitely a skill!! All the best, Venum
  2. Love spraying camo myself, it's a bit addictive mind ;D I have always gone for a light tan base coat because I reckon it's going to be easier to blend over than a darker base, let me know how it goes when you try painting over black? All the best, Venum
  3. Two sample pots... Now thats not a bad shout at all ;D I know what you mean with spray paint, it can rack up the costs but if its quality I can see it as an investment. If you look online... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-X-250ml-Army-Military-Vehicle-Camouflage-Spray-Paint-10-Colours-Matt-Finish-/251326791920?pt=UK_DIY_Material_Paint_Varnish_MJ&var=&hash=item3a843e80f0 Never used it before, these a couple of greens and browns, any three mixed for about the cost your paying for a single can might make it worth a punt :/ I like the stuff from halfords camo range, cost about
  4. Right then boys, first batch (No excuses...) lets have some criticism Should never judge by looks so they say, but these will get a fair trial in the field, which am sure we can agree, counts the most. Was thinking about having a play with different treatments (Baking soda, dip, wax, spray, ect) but lets save that for another thread eh... All the best, Venum
  5. Awesome, well done Outlaw P, plenty of brews an all ;D Be cushtie to see some more pictures when you have cam'd them up, and then when there set to go. Enjoy your pint, looks like you have erned it. Keep smiling, Venum

  7. I am using an army issue 'day sack', it's like a small version of a bergan with a capacity of 45 liters, with the intent on putting a 45'ish liter rectangular plastic bin in the main compartment (Like Outlaw P said) it's gonna be ridged but it's got plenty of padding on the back and straps. The said daysack is of the MTP flavour, it's got mollie straps on the outside which can come in handy if you go for this style of pack. As it stands, I have a few of the fast mag ammo pouches on both sides, ideal for me, to carry snips, linesmans pliers ect. Not sure what gear your going to be carr
  8. You are not your job. You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet. You're not your f***ing khakis. You're the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world...
  9. And finally got the washers in, thanks Heritage for the heads up, your a star ;D Going to get making this weekend, been playing with wire, crimping, researching size's, support and anchoring techniques, loading and preparation. Feeling pretty confident and have a few thing I want to try, wish me luck... All the best boys, Venum
  10. Rahaha, sounds a right treat, glad I wont be able to smell it from over here...?!! I was listening to Clint Locklear the other night, and he was saying that once he got a catch, he used the dirt from the set (Because of the scents left) and spead them around his other sets to trigger interest, something I want to eventually try, could well beat the trauma of brewing up a few gallons of rancid What chemicals are you goin to use? Keep smiling, Venum
  11. Some sound advice Heritage, always good to hear from someone with experience, hence the reason why I intend on keeping this thread going. Will defiantly send you a message. I bought my stops and ferrules from the UK, the shipping jumped up massively when I asked about adding them to my order from the states. I think I know the ones your talking about, are they the 'release stops' with the set break away, the do have to be put on with a special tool? Haha, that made me chuckle last night Outlaw P, you just carnt win eh!? Aye definitely IanB, glad you back safe and sound, PM on r
  12. Eeeeee, so when the next outing planned? Haha, looking forward to the write up ;D
  13. Happy days, Sunderland aint that far from me, straight down the A19 but it would probably be cheaper to put it through the post mate. I am easy if you would rather pick it up though. Asked about and we do have some knocking about, not sure what you mean by not too gappy, its the pukka army stuff :/ All the best, Venum
  14. Cheer's for the heads up, will look into knipex if I have to buy again, shame I didn't know sooner, however the draper gear was half the price, will let the forum know if they pile in so you all know to keep clear. Aye, totally agree with the overkill, but would like to think that people have some common sense... I mean things like kill springs and they RAM power snares. Your right about the law too, locking snares, biter cam locks being a prime example. Was looking at fishing swivels actually, might be a good shout even before it becomes actual law. Seen a lot of examples looking on
  15. Got the tools from eBay, maybe could of got them slightly cheaper but I went with a seller from the UK and went for a brand know for a good quality, buy cheap usually buy twice eh, thinking I won't need to buy them again if I look after them. Got the locks, collars and swivels from the states, there cheaper and more variety than over here but the catch is the shipping cost, me and a mate went halfers so after we split the shipping it didn't work out too bad at all, like I said earlier about reusing the parts it's an investment ;D Looking for a cheaper place to buy the end stops next time, if I
  16. Tested the cutters and the crimp last night by making up a few extensions out of 2mm 7x7 and some 2mm ferrules. The cutters where fine, easy to use and left a clean cut edge. The Ratchet crimp was fine too, used the blue terminal for the bite, and done both sides, looks tidy and seams pretty solid as is but I will write up if I get any dramas, was thinking of giving them a bash with a hammer just for peace of mind but I will see what ideas the lads come up with and try and break a few at work ;D
  17. Sure I could find you some, will look tomorrow ;D Ne promises though, where abouts are you or would you pay the postage?
  18. Young lad on a day like the sound of that, be suprised if he didnt get the taste for it, good on ya and all the best
  19. Any thing that shits fan heaters is priceless in my eyes marra... Haha, na they both look really good
  20. These are the support collars I was on about, sure with a little imagination can figure out how they work... Heres the LoPro locks, there a little smaller than the micro locks, might not be able to tell from the picture, so I can put one up next to a micro on request? Finally the swivels, on first impression they look really well made (a LOT better than if I was to make them). They have a nice big loop on them too, ideal for a rebar stake, peg or anchor, there made of 11# gauge wire which in metric works out to about 3mm thickness.
