  2. I re-mounted the scope to no avail. I read that someone had to give their scope a swift tap to free something inside, does this sound reasonable? This scope is supposedly shock and waterproof, I've only ever used it for a few minutes. Bad move buying the scope from eBay? :/ Here are some pics of the setup, everything look ok?

  5. Thanks for your opinion. The barrel is ok as I'm accurate with the open sights and I'm very careful when handling the rifle. I'll give the setup another go, I didn't mention that the scope wasn't centred prior to the zero attempt, but that shouldn't matter, if I'm not mistaken. Can you explain what the return spring is and how I may check if this is the problem? Thanks again.
  6. Hi, So I'm a beginner and am trying to get my Hawke 3x9 50 AO to zero on my SMK XS38 Magnum .22 air rifle, but I'm finding it really difficult. I put a large cardboard box behind my pellet catcher and target so I can see where the pellets are straying. Starting from 10 yards I kept adjusting the windage until I saw the holes in the cardboard getting closer to the target until I realised the windage would not turn right any further but still was straying to the left. I noticed the scope lens markings start at 15 yards so I thought I must be too close. I moved to 15-16 yards but the same
