  1. Plenty of the olde boys out of platt lane say he's the best they ever seen... http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/archive/in-pictures-footballs-peter-doherty-was-mr-magic-29203450.html
  2. What bubble are you living in? I'm pretty sure there's top flight people in all walks of life with even more important jobs.....like surgeons and pilots who love a night on the coke followed by a few tasty high class hookers. It's 2015 not 1915..... Yeah there are plenty of folk who love a night on the coke, it's why the military and haulage firms test for it. Nobody really interviews them herberts who have come skidding down from £30/40/50k a yr to benefitsville, there are plenty out there...i know one who still dont get it, i told him about his manners twice and a month later he

  6. I bumped into him on a canal tow path one day (side of the M/c Velo/Home of British Cycling), had a little chat....his style is awfull but his sustained cadence is outrageous, piss in the kite cant break it, he's learnt his brain controls the muscles. Truth is the frogs are parrott with Brailsford, they've not had a winner since 85 and telling them he'd have a brit winner within ten yrs gave them the needle. http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/racing/tour-de-france/riding-chris-froome-holme-moss-125109
  7. The first thing you need to know is just how a free market works when making a loan, the risks of it not being paid back is weighed up, the riskier the deal the higher the "Upfront charges" and interest rate charged, anyone who has dealings with the likes of Ocean finance or payday loan companies will understand this. Debt is not a "Guarantee of future payment in full", rather it is a risk that creditors take to make a premium in the form of high interest. The Greek Debt was initially taken out with PRIVATE investment bank Goldman-Sachs, remember that name because it was the same company that

  9. They would if thier non cycling specific shorts contained a seam, which they do...get away with it for 50miles i suppose but i've seen plenty spew on an hot day once through the 80mile mark with the seam transposing itself into some sort of cheese wire. If leaning over your saddle on a hill section letting the guy behind get all hot looking at your back wheels sticking thru the lycra is your hobby that's fine.just pull over to let paying road users threw.or stop at the nearist woods and rim each other letting the traffic flow Let me guess, you wear body armour and your a little shy when it
  10. Nothing wrong with anyone enjoying their sport...But you dont see the local Boxing club sparring in the Post office or the local football team having a kick about in Tesco's car park do you?...they do their sport in an appropriate place without hindering the general public...cyclists 3 abreast down small country lanes is pig ignorant and potentially dangerous for car driver and cyclist...maybe they should do their sport at somewhere more sutible a velodrome or cycle/race track like other sports do...can not see a connection to cycling and hunting at all...hounds and horses can only do their sp
  11. No i dont....but if 8 cyclists blocked me passing ability riding at 30mph on a 30 then i would'nt have a problem....someone that was late might. 'Road biking is a sport'...hmmm...commuting on a bike isnt...you said roads where built for cars....they were built for carriages, just like canal towpaths were were'nt built for cyclists but obviouosly you do it so hey ho silva. Dig...was'nt a dig kanny....there's f**k all wrong with me doing exactly what you do....obviously though 20 miles would'nt be worth f**k all when the dogs left at home, i realise from reading how other riding styles gets

  13. You can be forgiven for a lot of things Kanny..including anything that goes wooosh over your head (it would be terrible...) Does commuting not include cycling in this fat land? How do you feel about the off road mob spooking mountain hare and birds of prey? I know what you mean about the 20 mile stunt, i've a 12yr old terrier here that does it with me 3 times a week...muntjac butting each other fortnight ago just outside marsden, mink having right off on the rochdale canal, same again behind old trafford..even coypu in tameside if you ride a silent clutch/hub
  14. Motorists with a spare bike chain whipped across thier kite never piss themselves laffin....least i've never witnessed it.
  15. How do you know what i do..2mins ago you was positive car drivers solely pay for the roads.Car drivers have an excuse ready when they clout another car up the arse, what's the age olde adage again about driving on a road.....perhaps thats what some cyclists are doing when useing more than the normal apron of a road. That's not discounting twatty cyclists but twatty cyclists dont kill folk every day of the yr on the roads they have part funded.
  16. ...drivers pay for the roads therefore drivers should have priority. Dont put a lot of money on that^ Bizarre how grown men are upset with what sports clothing other males wear, something very clement freud about it. It would be terrible of cyclists to ride two abreast if it was illegal. I've had a motorist up me arse bibbing to pass on a country lane whilst i was clocking 44mph..he needed to trump me. Had a skip wagon do something similar (30mph down a single track), fortunately for the good of the community we managed to bring him to a stop, until he shown us his bounc
  17. I feel no personal pride in Our problems being mongy enough to stab folk with the misfortune of looking slightly wealthier than them and i'm almost positive such a mindset would be gagging to sign up for a black and tan outfit to go searching for weapons of mass destruction. Your NS suggestion Max though often quoted seems to be historically not far off the mark, the formation of youth clubs and association football put the skids under the skuttles. We used to run the gauntlet with Ancoats getting home from town half-cut, lark and half, 80yrs later the offsprogs were still at, got run

  20. What was the blonde kids name around at the same time, did he bring a medal home from the olympics, from the NW..warrington-outskirts of liverpool seem to ring a bell...his name always escapes me?
  21. I do and i dont remember AKA, to be truthful i'm not intrested enough, i'm completely non-plussed about the heavy-weight scene. I only really recalled it cause me pals voice went up whilst i was busy scoffing and it was obvious peter had threw the objection up to what me pal had said with me pal replying 'Don't talk like a twat Peter'....it was Peter's turn to serve and after a delay the training offer was voiced with me pal instantly shaking his head in a dramatic fashion. I've enough sense to know his unwillingness was not anything to do with dough but more a mentality that was capable of lo
  22. Bob Shannons more of a painter&decorator than a world class trainer aint he?...didnt do Hatton too many favours...shame he didnt stick with Billy Graham...i see they was re-united this week...bet theres a few regrets there...so who was the mate of yours oneredtrim?? are you saying Peter Fury was looking to off load Tyson??...why would he do that?...he may not be no Muhammed Ali...but he is mandatory contender for the world title...with all due respect No i dont believe Peter was looking to offload AKA, he knows me pal since thier early moss side days and the helping hand was voice
  23. That little article also does'nt mention him captaining City or Captaining England on his debut or the little fact that a club just outside of the then Manchester boundaries (Trafford United) were actively seeking his signature or him being the first player to walk out onto the newely formed Maine rd. Big chats are currently ongoing to have him remembered along with Trautman on the Etihad campus
  24. With all due respect to Bob Shannon (grew up with his younger brothers) he'd not be the trainer to source if serious title fights were someones aspirations. Peter Fury asked a pal of mine to take over Tysons training, he shook his head...i asked him if he had the hump with peter and he told me not at all, later he flicked me a little vid of tyson training with no words attached to the mail...i got his point, he'd have needed to start from scratch.
  25. that title is usely saved for Colin The King Bell but he was'nt the first of that ilk to pull a sky blue shirt on... http://www.amazon.co.uk/All-Round-Genius-Britains-Sportsman/dp/1845131371 unfortunately the write-up ^ forgets to mention his golf was played off scratch.
