At this moment I have 8 dogs indoors in my waggon, 5 dogs indoors in crates (they dont live in the crates, they are just in there for a few hours when they are not outside or supervised) and two psychdogs outside in kennels, but they are guard dogs not lurchers.

To All You Antis Trolling On Here

Blackgreyhound - I'm not sure what prompted your post, but that was really well said, I know exactly where you are coming from mate. My family are Roma Gypsies and we were taught from a really young age to respect nature and all wildlife - we had to learn everything about each animal before we hunted them, we had to train our own dogs from when we were little kids. We were taught to shoot and made to spend hours practising and it was god help us if we ever wounded an animal, it had to be an instant kill or a miss or we were in deep poo I once got a proper beating for tearing a branch -
How did she go at the vets? wishing you all the best and pm me I will chip in as much as I can, glad you are keeping her well done mate

What Do You Look For In A Pup?
girl hunter replied to lamping-lad's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Depends what I want the dog for, but a switched on, confident, healthy puppy with the makings of the right build is a good place to start, dogs that flee into a corner, are unresponsive, weak looking or just don't appeal to me are the ones I would avoid -
It's a shame you are so far away from me, I would rehome her, I have a nice bit of fenced land, and half my lurchers are rescues who can't work (I have 6 working and 8 'other') and would happily take her in if you can get her to me. I don't have much cash but I can help if needs be PM me if you want to sort something out, she would have an acre of safe field and loads of lurcher company if I rehomed her good luck with her matey whatever you decide, and well done

Ivermectin can be dangerous to some breeds of dog, so research it carefully. If your dogs are xs of any hypersensitive breed avoid ivermectin and go for a topical treatment, assuming it does turn out to be mange.
-
Get it checked to confirm mange not allergy or something that has gotten onto his legs, then if it is mange, buy some lime and sulphur dip, you have to put some in a bath and wash the dog in it, then leave it to dry. It is the most foul smelling substance on the planet, it stinks like rotten eggs but it worked really well and really quickly for me when I aquired a puppy that turned out to have sarcoptic mange. By the time it showed she had spread it to 8 dogs, this stuff cleared it up in two weeks

I have a saluki x husky, she is the mutts nuts - very clever, very fast, she thinks things through, she is tough, well built and will take any legal quarry. She is also a very pretty dog (not that looks are important, but it feels good to me to have such a stunning dog) Temprement wise, she is calm, happy and very energetic, she dosn't bark and she is very biddable and attentive. Don't knock it till you have tried it matey, some supposedly brilliant crosses amount to nothing, some 'odd' or unusual dogs turn out to be amazing, I judge on a dog by dog basis, it's all down to personal

Unbelievable And I Wouldn't Believe It .....

Ace. Good luck with that pup -
Some dogs just mature slower than others, smaller breeds tend to come to maturity earlier, I had a saluki/collie/grey that didn't come into season till 14 months old, and most of my saluki girls were at least 12 months. Don't worry

Hi, as others have mentioned, Dave Hancock has pups all year round, I called him for a chat about one of his dogs a little while ago, and he is a really nice guy, very helpful, he was genuinly interested and friendly, the best thing to do is contact him and go from there Good luck, hope you find what you ae looking for
