  1. Does anyone know if a sako 85 stock will fit an S491????
  2. your being thick cant you see the entrance and exit wounds!!! dummy!!!!!
  3. I have to admit i have heard some crap about proofing over the years, mostly it is RFD`s tring to get more money off you. one guy even told me i would need to re-proof my rifle if i added a moderator!!!!
  4. it all depends on what image you want to pass on use the expensive stuff if you want to look like you have money and the cheap stuff if you dont care less. aslong as they all go bang and have shot in them thats good enough. your shooting ability is more important, no cartridge will make it easier to hit a clay.
  5. as i remember it was the end result that was in question
  6. Thats a problem i have had with both a nite eye and a nikko, i just went back to 3-9 x 50. things get worse when you try to lamp on a high mag. i dont know if you get the problem on the high end scopes.
  7. hate pubs horrible places full of chavs and those pretend hunters that have to use dogs to make up for their lack on fieldcraft and knowledge.
  8. So morally what is the difference between a terrier coursing catching and killing a rat and a lurcher doing the same to a haregeordie well a rat is a horrible little bugger and hare is a lovely animal that should be left to get on with its life. its all about perception. no one cares about rats so the doggy boys are welcome to them. anything bigger should be left to be cleanly dispatched by rifle. its more humaine. You just have to look at lurcher to know they are raggy old muts from a bygone age. the breed should be left to go extinct like pit bulls and the like.
  9. there is no room for cruelty in fieldsports. things change and we need to keep pace with the changes or it will all be over for all of us.
  10. Acceptable by who, people who take no time to understand what they see, and pass judgement on other peoples methods,I have used most methods and all have there place in the hunting scene, controlling foxes isn't for the amusement of a few with rifles, its a serious business when you lost lambs at a potential of £70 a throw, and the farmers waiting for the gob shite rifle man to turn up, who promised to be there when ever he called, and cant make it for another week, and even then he cant stay all night,I will tell you this, you watch the farmer welcome the terrier man with open arms then, controlli
  11. There is no reason to chase animals all over the country side in order to kill them, those days should have gone along with the black death and polio. Your out of date and out of touch with what is legal and acceptable to todays society.
  12. so you would like to do away with true working type dogs? dogs that have helped people hunt for food and control unwanted pests for thousands of years. dogs and people have had a relationship since people started using wolfs for hunting. hunting dogs are mans real best friend and represent thousands of years of tradition and you would get rid of them just like that. THATS WRONG.Its tradition in NI for the marching bands to give catholics the finger every year, tradition is not the be all and end all , I dont like anything that is cruel, tradition or not.
  13. its my opinion. you should read back some of the previous posts, they basicly state how cruel hunting with dogs is. I didnt like fox hunting, i dont like stag hunting i hate hare coarsing and i hate setting lurchers on foxes, i think they are all cruel, but i wouldnt dream of standing against them as i know the doggy boys wouldnt stand against shooting. but that my opinion. and what the f**k is aff the baw ?? you need some lessons in basic english!!!!
  14. I think things have changed and we have moved on, to protect our sport dogs need to be dropped from hunting all together. gun dogs still have a place but terriers and lurchers need to go by the way side. IMO
  15. yep it is ok but there is a limit i think it is 10% but i am not sure.
  16. Mine has a slow twist rate as well,1/12 I am using the 52 gr h/point with 23 grn of Reloader 7 I would like to go heavier, but it seem's lighter would be a better option for my rifles twist rate, but that is a good group mate, would be interested to see what you get at a longer distance, 55g is the optimum weight bullet for a 1:12 twist rate, in fact it is one of the closest matched bullets weights to barrel twist there is,
  17. Heres the craic, rabbit is a lovley meal for a fox, or any carnivore come to that, but bugger me they are quick and hard to catch. A healthy rabbit will have no problem getting away from a fox, it would there for follow that the fox would know this and would also know it is better off gathering the smaller more easy to catch things. Now one day Mr Fox is bimbling down the hedge row and out pops roger rabbit right into his paws, well says mr fox what an opertunity i `ll have that yum yum. Rabbits are a food of opertuninty for a fox, not a major part of his diet, i would be surprised if his die
  18. Ah the old "I've made a c**t off it so ill say its a wind up" routine...... Hilarious... Lol If you think rabbit makes up 95% of a foxes diet your the c**t old mate,
