  4. Lurchers are some of the toughest dogs around and can eat most things and survive for years with no problems. That has been my passed 25 years of experience of working and owning them.... !

  6. As i said before, this lurcher game is a tough passtime and hard on them! Its also hard on the owners. Its sad for a lot of lads when they loose their hunting conpanions, some lads just move on and get another, without a thought. It all depends what your like i think. Some take it worse then others. However, most lads would be gutted to see a very good worker die, weather their hardy or not. I have calmed down a lot with lurchers now, lost a few, dogs getting badly injured then just as their right, their injured again. It can really put you off at times...! Not to mention some of the lads that

  9. Its a tough old game the lurcher scene, sorry for your loss, not easy when it happens, hapened to me last year. Most hard working lurchers dont make it to old bones in my experience. Its hard to carry on at times, what with all the injurys ect..hope it does not put you off, but understanable if it does...r.i.p Bella..
  10. Some great pics, good effort that, its not all about the killing and these proove it..

  12. In Australia, any cat seen after sunset, is shot or captured using any method. I have a brother in law living out their and he tells me they are a right pest and the worse thing to wildlife since they were introduced!! Not far from me, their is a feral cat population and has been for years, these cats are no pets and are miles away from domestic homes. They are attracted by a huge dump. THey have taken young pheasents and older ones, much to the annoyence of the local gun clubs, as well as some folks hens would you believe. A lot of these ferals are huge...!! That women was silly to post that
  13. Smashing pics, thanks for putting them up, would be great to live their...
  14. Glad you got her back, great news that.
  15. That's what I've always thought, you also have to factor in the 30,000 years they've spent living off human scraps. The ones that could process the carbs we left for them better would of been fitter and stronger and so passed their genes on, I reckon the domesticated dog is more than capable of processing carbs. People forget how far removed from wolves our dogs are. 2 good points their and very true i think.
  16. I thought he was very brave having a go whilst stood behind old bill. Over here, he would be buried in a deep bog in the arse end of no where........................!.........lol
  17. I think i know what i would of done with that fecker.....
  18. A lot of dogs died early then too....however, i think rabbit is a great part, of a lurchers diet..
  19. I seen the busy body on a a country file program a while ago, having a go at some lads coursing, telling them not to come back and stay out of linconshire.....like to see him try and do that without all the back up around him....bit like that other nob, jeremy kyle...!!
  20. Sorry to hear this and such a young age...i met him briefly at a show few year back, seemed a characher and loved the banter and craic..r.i.p...
  21. It all depends on the dogs breeding and what it is bred for. The modern gsd are mainly show bred and as you say, deformed. Some are bred for work and need a lot of training to keep them happy. Some have very high drive, so if just left, will go nuts. Their is still some good working/guarding gsd around and some have diluted blodd in them from before the berlin wall went down. If your dog does its job and your happy with him, then thats all that matters, but if your in doubt that he will aprehend an intruder, then a pup from better working lines would be the way to go. Most these day have to b
