  1. YES!! Jesus wept I need some sort of translator sometimes.
  2. Well Big Thug, we may not agree on the need to spend sacks of cash on what amounts to four poles, or two or whatever it is Sussex uses but if that is a genuine offer you have got yourself a free stalk and an opportunity to see for yourself. Can't say fairer than that. If I could work out how to do the emoticon of the bloke tipping his hat I would. Hats off Sussex.
  3. I use the original Bisto which is a powder. Don't know if it can be used dry. It's at it's best when mixed with cold water before use but it won't hurt to try it I might give it a go myself.
  4. I reckon if you ground the bisto granules up fine you could add them neat to the mince as if they were a seasoning.
  5. Yeah, but it's on Sky Go. LOL Do you know anybody that has sky? Most Sky customers don't use the online catch-up service they pay for, they can have up to two devices registered to use it. If you know a Sky customer that doesn't mind you registering your PC/laptop/tablet/smart TV (whichever you want), you can access all the catch-up (and stream live Sky ), including History. Genius. I'll do that.
  6. Yeah. They are as good as any of the bought ones. Can't agree their H , I tried some a friend bought , some type of aircraft aluminium , fully adjustable and the lightest set of sticks I've ever used ..while the cane ones do the job they don't compare to a precision made set , that's why they cost a small fortune . got to agree with this I made a set of quad sticks as mentioned above to see how I got on with them. once I started using them I ordered a set of Hammond sticks all I can say as with most of the shooting gear you get what you pay for. they are fully adjustable, strong, lightweight
  7. A small battery powered radio left on might help add to your deterrents.
  8. i chucked it in the hedge but I will c if it still there and get a better pic tomorrow Don't sweat it too much. If there are deep notches in the breast bone of the kills it will likely be a Goshawk. Much more aggressive and efficient killer than a Buzzard. What county are you in?
  9. The sausages thing doesn't surprise me. Bet it got hot feet though.
  10. Does the history channel have an on demand streaming service? I don't have sky b
  11. Notches in the breast bone could indicate a Goshawk, I can't really see from the picture of the duck. I have my doubts wether a Buzzard would be a threat to your geese but a Goshawk...
  12. I asked before but is there an damage to the breast bone? Any chunks taken out?
  13. Try adding salt? Chicken stock or a beef oxo cube maybe
  14. Yeah. They are as good as any of the bought ones.
  15. Make yourself some twin sticks. If you buy the green plastic coated bean sticks from B&Q and join them with a rubber ring, or a bolt or whatever they cost less than a fiver and will definitely improve your standing shooting. . They are quicker than 4 sticks but not as steady.
  16. Foxdropper is exactly right. Buzzards can and will take live prey, no argument there. Kites. Much less likely. Also Red kites feed on the wing sp much harder to subdue and eat anything live that they catch. I don't doubt that in parts of the country Buzzards are in proportions where there is a valid argument for their control. The UK buzzard population is higher in number that the WORLD red kite population. All that said Kites will have a negative effect over any game shoot, especially a partridge shoot, their presence in the air causes displacement and can send whole c
  17. It doesn't annoy me, I was just confused as to why lorry drivers do it. I can understand fo other lorry drivers but like you say. For my Ford Mondeo its not as crucial. I thought i might have been missing something. I know I took the piss but I do have a lot of respect for Hauliers. Its a job I couldn't do.
  18. You clearly haven't seen kites taking pheasants out of the air. I have. You're right, I havent. A buzzard perhaps but personally I doubt a Red Kite. Like I say. Never say never but I am sceptical that that happened. Perhaps it's true, Perhaps it was mistaken identity or perhaps you made it up. Until I see that happen with my own eyes you and me won't agree on this I am sure.
  19. I have heard the name Dereck Stocker but I cant put my finger on where from, was he Ex Forestry Commission? Anyway, Jonny. From West Yorkshire I guess you would have to travel a bit south to find a good population of Muntjac. You need to phone BASC and ask them if you are covered by their insurance and you need to find a guide with an estate rifle. I would have though google would be your friend to begin with. There is another forum you could try called the stalking directory. There are one or two guides on there and plenty of reviews that might help you find someone to stalk with.
  20. Apologies for being flippant. You are correct in your last point that's for sure. So, help me because I am still confused, when I overtake you and you flash you are telling me it is safe to pull into the left hand lane? If that is the case then the car overtaking you that i haven't seen is in the middle lane, so the safest thing for me to do is pull into the left hand lane, which I would do whether you flashed me or not, unless I was overtaking another car or lorry. So are you flashing me to say it's okay to pull in or are you flashing me to remind me to pull in to avoid the car
  21. don't want some pratt reading your typo and thinking he can give his dog a vitamin E tab rather than going to the vet. Ooh shit yeah. Apologies. Thanks for that.
  22. Buzzards will definitely take chickens although the kills you describe to me don't sound like typical buzzard. Kites much much less likely. Although they are a big bird their talons are piss weak. Despite sarcasm from other members kites are most definitely carrion feeders. Never say never but like I say very very unlikely it was a kite. It could even be Tawny owls at dusk doing the killing with badgers or some other thing taking the bodies away through the night. One question, was the bread bone intact or did it look like lots of little bites were taken out of it? Doesn't r
