He's bound to miss the routine mate...but I wouldnt worry, 2 weeks out shouldnt cause any major problems. My dad Gsd's were always a bit mental for a few days when they'd been in kennels while he was on holiday, but soon settled back down again...just have to put a bit of time in when you get back.

Who remembers that episode of 'Minder' with the gay greyhound, Arthur Daly gets Terry to build a lure using a pushbike....f****n hilarious.

What Was/is You Best Pot Filler?
Neoleaver replied to EnglishBulldog's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
my collie 3/4 grey was the best pot filler I had, took rabbit hare pheasant (she was stolen 2002), fast agile, clever, strike from impossible angles, she'd bust into a hedge flat out...sometimes I'd wince at the sight of it....but she'd come out wi summat in her gob more often than not. Never was a deer dog tho and didnt do teeth...I honestly think she thought she judt had to 'see em off' she get up the back of em and do the running pirouette with em teeth flashing then watch em dissapear into the distance and come trotting back to me all puffed up and impressed with herself. Now my beddy/grey -
dunno about that mate, being taught fractions by a practical engineer (my grandad), not some over complicated schoolteacher academic type, definately helped tho.

If both the parents are the same proportion collie, then yours will be the same mate, thats what these feckers are getting at....all good clean banter mate, take with a pinch of salt The way I always think of it mate: whenever you see it worked out as quarters, the four n the fraction represents the four grandparents of that dog....so a 1/4 collie 3/4 grey has 1 collie grandparent and 3 greyhound grandparents. so breed two of these together and you get a new generation and the pup will have 2 collie great grandparents (1x2) and 6 greyhound great grandparents (3x2) this gives 2 collies out

Neoleaver replied to FUJI's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Great shots Fuji, always enjoy em mate...I rarely see/hunt with other lurcher men, so its always good to see other folks dogs out and about...cheers fella -

Nice vid mate, enjoyed that......didnt realize there was any suggestion they were better/worse than UK lurchers or that they should add to the lurcher genepool. Just an interesting vid showing how they do it in Kazakstan.....a shame it wasnt Borat presenting...but you cant have everything.

Always said it, lucher owners are either the very best or the very worst of owners. The best have a dog that is a part of the family 'pack' and is encouraged to follow its hunting instinct, and will be kept until they draw their last breath wether fantastic worker or average. The worst will shunt dogs around all the time, blaming each animal in turn for not making the grade when in fact, it is they, the owner that is lacking in any skill at working with a dog, some...sadly are so cruel and unfeeling that you end up with dogs in the f***ing disgraceful state that j.dog found his in. Throw away

Free Bushing Dog-Beddy Whippet X Collie
Neoleaver replied to owendbowendb's topic in Working Dogs & Livestock
make a good stud to line with Gh that one. -
Like seeing them about, was watching a vixen and two cubs last year on the railway cutting. Used to run the reds whenever one came up in the lamp, gotta say I must be gettin a bit soft in me old age, dont feel like I have any reason to run em these days and probly wont do when the new dog comes........now if I kept poultry or raised lambs it'd be a different story.

The 'spit' of my old dog that mate....sadly missed.....bit of a headcase but he caught well..happy days.
-
Happened to me a few year back mate......gutted. Hope you get some joy recovering them, it does happen now and again.
-
Owld blankets/duvet.....take em down the launderette then before they get too hangin. Just dont put em in the missus' machine indoors!
-
You can see it coming thru...right enough...useful looking bitch.

not my kind of lurcher, but Id expect a dog of this breeding to catch well. Just have to be very patient and dont expect too much in terms of obedience, retrieving etc. Not impossible to train, some have managed it, but this is more of a 'sporting' courser than a mooching/bushing/ferreting type...some may disagree, like I said some people do click with these types but I'd suggest that those who've had success usually have a few trained dogs behind them. What you looking to do with the dog? Will it be your first running dog?

Somebody Get This Poor Dog Away From This Mothers c**t
Neoleaver replied to DogMagic's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
pure c**t -
Keep a close eye on it mate, knew of a bull terrier once got a plastic bag wrapped round its gut, dog lost a lot of weight and was in a bad way till the vet sussed it. Least you know its in there and can monitor it, wouldn't be surprized if the dog digests any natural fibres, polyester might be a problem tho.

Hill collie grey x deer grey.....keep it native....all the jokes/piss takes I thought of have already been done! Could of kept it simple by saying 'if all the people/man made stuff disappeared tommorow what dog would you want by your side'...no actually that would have been way worse from piss taking point of view
