  8. So as the title says needing a bit of help explaining my scope. Having a bit if a brain fart moment and not used to shooting at close ranges . So this morning I was out taking care of some of the bunny population. I have my rifle zero'd at roughly 35 yards I double checked this and it was fine and even bagged a few in the hour I was out. This afternoon I got a call asking me to come shoot a couple of rats, distance was going to be from approx 15 yards to 18 yards nothing special but since im not used to these short ranges I thought id set out some targets and see where my pellets would be land
  9. I am using a LED Lenser p7 for some lamping. The torch itself without filters has a good range to its beam. I recently got a filter kit for it and straight away put in the red filter, now this has limited its range down. The filters are a ball ache to change so im being lazy and rather than trying it thought id ask here. So my question is will one the other filters give more range with the beam? Thanks
  10. Cheers nathan. Yes it would be used on rabbits too thats mainly what I shoot but your right the ns200s are expensive. Ill keep your advice in mind cheers
  11. Thanks for that nathan ill give it ago. I was baiting it but as you say it may well have being getting spooked by the light, may invest in some NV. Daz39 sorry mate misunderstood you there. It was a lengthy wait but hate to just let them roam the garden digging holes.
  12. Thanks I was pretty pleased, probably the longest distance ive ever shot a rat but just couldnt find anywhere closer to hide lol
  13. So tonight i set about sorting another rat in the garden. I don't have many rats around but due to our location on the farm the occasional few get the wrong idea and I like to jump straight on them. Tonight was no different with some evidence of the rats presence around the fences I set the tx200 up with my LED Lenser torch and filter, chose my position and sat there waiting. This waiting continued for about 2 hours and still not one shot fired. my determination kept me there a while longer which paid off. Mr rat poked his head out of his hole at 38 yards and presented me with my opportunity, w

  15. God knows I waited. I cant figure out how to get this picture on fron my phone.
  16. Now this is not the biggest bag in the world but by far the most satisfactory, for me anyway. For weeks there has been a rat in my garden on the farm where I live. Endless nights and mornings trying to catch this scaley tail, but to no avail. The only evidence of his presence being the holes that were left behind. Tonight was different with only a hand of dried dog food I was determined to out an end to captain rattuss' elusive reign. After an hour I was presented with a head shot at 25 yards. As he skulked from around a gate post with a satisfying squeeze on the trigger of my .177 tx200 he cu
  17. After a bit of advice on what people thinks is best. I started off using AA field diablo .177 grouping nicely etc no complaints, then I changed to H&N green baracuda pellets again grouping virtually the same at about 35 yards only difference is the AA pellet is much more distorted at the end of the range where as H&N looks virtually perfect still. Any advice on which is better in a hunting scenario? Cheers
