Pellets-Pellets But Which One
sparkycrew replied to sparkycrew's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Simon,i dont know you but strangly i trust your words,i didnt know how bad my rifle had got until i started washing and lubing my pellets, its as smooth as silk now,at around 800 pellets through it i ran it over the chrono and with AA field 4.51 its extreme spread was only 5 fps across 20 shots, iam pretty sure its mechanically sound,in saying that iam off down the gun shop saturday for some pellets,i may let him try the rifle see what he thinks, iam looking to clean the barrel but dont know the best way to do it its difficult to describe whats happening, the rifle has smoothed out nicely,no me -
This shooting game, its not just aim and fire and hit a match stick at 30 yrs my prosport has changed after 1000 rounds it became harsh and not consistent,so washed lubed and carefully selected by eye the best pellets (AA field 4.51),the accuraccy improved but not back to how it was when i got it,also after putting to one side the duff pellets ie bent skirts i was horriified to see 30 or so,not acceptable for pellets costing £9.35 RWS superfield are next on the list for trying.theres some good right ups on the net, iam also thinking i may need to clean my barrel, the first 1000 pellets werent

Washed the remaining tin of AA fields 4.51 and rinsed them, took more notice of the water and was quiet supprised by my results, the water turned grey,i sieved out the pellets and the debris was evident in the bowl, sorted the bad pellets(damaged skirts) and lightly lubed the good ones Its well worth doing as its free to do,i noticed my groupings opening up and i was getting daft flyers and generally the rifle felt poor to use,not now though is brilliant regards nick

Mawders/phil funny you should suggest a tx200,shouldered one last saturday and found it more balanced, less front heavy and i was able to hold it really steady on target while stood,i cant do that with my prosport, iam going wash and lube the rest of my pellets and continue testing hopefully its not a fluke, i know at times my shooting can be irratic and i always need a good dozen shots to get my eye in,before lubing my pellets the last couple of sessions i havent got my eye in after 100 shots,i do try and hold the rifle, load the comb, breath and release the trigger the same for every shot,it ju

I got two shoulder a tx200 hc at the weekend and found it much more manageable weight wise than my prosport,i found i could hold a target standing,i cant do that with the prosport, probabley the prosports gold trigger blade LOL regards nick -
Hy guys, had my prosport,177 six weeks now and after 1000 pellets throught it,well to be honest the shine had worn off a little, maybe my beginners look had run out, maybe it is becouse i have just started wearing glasses, maybe i wasnt trying hard enough after all its a PROSPORT,there are loads of variables as to way the accuracy may be way would, had i just got blazzah when pulling the trigger, was i following the shot through, was my breathing correct,i worked on all the variables i could but the rifle or me was not getting better,to the point when i asked my lad if we were going shooting, his re

Jsb Exact 4.51/4.52/4.53 ???
sparkycrew replied to dommorris92's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
My prosport across the crono loves the AA field @ 4.51 with a 5.1fps spread over ten shots 4.52 with a 11.7fps spread over ten shots its trial and error with pellets, unfortunately my shooting is so hit and mis ATM its a waste of time trying to find the perfect pellet for my rifle regards nick -
Darrly,an exellent how to vid, my new prosport has only around 1000 pellets through it so a service is a long way away yet,but iam a very very fussy chap and hate trusting others with my stuff,so with your vid i will service mine myself and the cost saving will go towards a decent crony to check its back to best iam a car mechanic by trade and i have worked with some people i wouldnt trust with toy car let alone someone's pride and joy I think thats why people rave about Tony wall at sandwell field sports, becouse the guy seems genuinley interested in what he does Regards nick

Hi guys/girls,had my prosport a month now(lovin it)borrowed a mates F1 crony and did the sums to find it loves airarms field at 4.51 with an extreme spread of only 5.1 fps over 10 shots and 11.25 fpe,so into chairgun pro armed with all my data to find they only support hawke scopes, well they would wouldn't they it is there scopes/software LOL, i choose a generic mill-dot scope from the list and to be fare from the ranges i have shot at, it does seem comparable with the data chairgun provides does anyone else use this software with other manufactures scopes? I have a nikko sterling mountm

thats a fine looking group, been out this afternoon wind was an issue again, had to re zero seems to shift a little only a couple of clicks though, reasonable groups at 25m pushed out to 40 metres, worked out my mil dot drop which chairgun was correct with and grouped 5 shots 3 under 3/4 of an inch and two flyers, knocked some 30-40 mm bottle tops about ok but my new HFT rabbit seemed elussive at 40 metres, got it maybe six times, but the miss rate was to high, seems a differant shape target poses new challenges just started wearing glasses today, can see really well now but struggling with getting c -

Andy,i asked the guy at the gun shop when my prosport would require a service and he said basically never or when accuracy deminish's,but i cant believe the factory grease on the piston will stay where its supposed to.its got to get pushed to the ends of the piston travel,i watched geordie marksman fitting a v-mach kit and it didnt look that complicated,i wondered if relubing the piston after so many pellets would be a good idea or am i worrying about nothing,i dont really want to open the action or let anyone else open it for that matter regards nick -

steve your bang on mate,i was going to buy a pcp and still am for my lad to use,but i like the fact a spring rifle is more challenging,i can get easily bored if something is two easy, having said that there will be days when the prosport will frustrate me,of cause it will be my own doing, the prosport is soooooooo consistent, did i mention an extreme spread of only 5.1 fps over 10 shots were going to chrony my mates daystate huntsman classic this week,he will be gutted if his spread is higher than mine regards nick -

Thanks for clearing that up phill,i know most german stuff is built to an above standard usually, seems austerity gets every, the prosports a keeper,i know iam lucky with it,yours was nightmare, chalk and cheese on the same product, i work for an italian car manufacture FIAT,and sometimes the conversion to right hand drive are poor,RHD is a small market to they care less for us,pretty cars though Nick -

Good stuff on the tuning kits guys, however my new Airarms prosport 177 has just chronygraphed AA field 8.4 grain 4.51 with an extreme spread of 5.1 fps over ten shots and its an out of the box rifle,i dont want to get into the my rifle's better than yours but i thought weirauchs were suppose to be muts nuts Regards nick -
HI mate, find the 6 digit serial no on the barrel, email Airarms from the home page, they will tell everything about the rifle, build date, model etc, opposite the the serial no on the barrel should be the calibre in mm and inches eg .177 4.50mm or .22 5.50mm nice rifle mate,i have the AirArms prosport and it's amazing regards nick
