    Well, I suppose I'm not perfect so I admit I may have 'missed a few.' I don't think any of us have a 100% record when it comes to re-treats. My main workload is bed-bugs, my friends in the industry do an awful lot of bed-bug work too and I find that phobi is way down the list on preferred insecticides.

    Well, ficam w is a decent insecticide, and seeing as we will soon be very limited for choice then yes I think many people will still use it for bed-bugs. Clive Boase knows far more about bed-bug control than I do, and on one of the courses he took, he actually stated that bendiocarb was one of the better actives for bed-bugs ( although Nod, I happen to agree with you )

    Plus some others. Seems like they want us to to control insect pests with a cricket bat ! The only decent insecticides soon for bed-bugs will be ficam w and demand.

    Just been browsing through the latest edition of 'Pest' magazine and came across an advert for a professional pest control supplier that I haven't heard of before. They're called pestfix and they are a family run company full of all the usual promises like lowest prices etc. If you want to piss yourself laughing, have a look at their 'low prices'

    Right, tiny flying beetles. Put under a magnifier and they are a lovely shiny appearance but look black when they land on you. They seem to be a rural problem and in really large numbers at the moment. They seem to be attracted to light colours especially white and light green. WHAT THE f**k ARE THEY ??

    Brian, are you saying we should all be hoovering up ficam w etc from roof voids after every wasp nest treatment in case a roofer has to work there at some point ? Or remove all dust from voids such as behind bath panels and under skirtings / carpets in case a plumber or carpenter has to work there ? Diatomaceous earth is so so for long term control but when you've got a mingling bed-bug infestation it's pretty useless. In my opinion.

    It's pretty good for bumble bees, but keep your head down if you're using it for wasps. As for bed-bugs, it's fine for dusting electrical sockets etc.

    Hw 45 .22 for me. Very powerful and perfect for dispatching in cages. Imo way better than a co2.

    Welcome aboard Rocky65! I take it your trapping season starts soon, you must be looking forward to getting out, and setting some traps! There is no trapping season over here! As said already, most trapping done in this part of the world, is done to keep problem species in check! When it comes to gray and red squirrel, unfortunately there is no natural ballance occurring here, and red squirrel numbers are very low, and grays are everywhere! Therefore, we must trap gray squirrel all year round, to try and reduce numbers,! Or ideally, eradicate them altogether! No hope of that I'm afraid!

    Customer went quiet on this one last year, but now they are so fed up with the noise at night, they are begging me to shoot them. This time they have thrown another spanner in the works and told me that the next door neighbour likes the peacocks ( two females and a male ) and wait for it....the neighbour is a copper !! I can hear the old alarm bells going off ! They're not protected though are they ??

    When you say you're not having any luck with poison or traps, explain what you've tried so far. That way, at least we can advise the best way forward.

    Great idea Muddy, I'm crap at putting a letter together but I would definitely send my MP one if I could print off one that is well put together. I agree with you too Matt, I am a sole trader ( extremely busy ) and now even more time taken away from me filling out forms instead of enjoying what little time I have with my kids !
