  1. Farmers boys dogs were game bred bull terriers.....not sure about lines etc...some of there dogs are featured in the book "dead game..."it gives info as well on the lineage of some of the dogs....maybe some help mate.....all the best...
  2. I took on an ex racing greyhound bitch....terrible mess physically and mentaly too...got her trained ( to a degree) an nice an healthy....then she bit one of my kids !! You never know what kinda damage has already been done...an another thing, once a paid to get her teeth an gums sorted at the vet she became a "chewer" lol..thats gratitude...
  3. One in my avatar pic is a beddy cross.....his sire was a second X beddiexwhippet...hes nearly 26tts...pics of him arre in the fully conditioned dog thread....
  4. Well done naming an shaming (doubt the have any shame) the scumbag !!!! A would rank dog thieves alongside rapists an kiddie fiddlers !!! Lowest of the low !!! Glad he got caught haha !!!
  5. I bred a litter of these years ago an outta 6 pups 5 went to workin homes...all took anything they were put to....3 ended up rough coated an 3 smooth( looked like pure grews).. the males reached between 25-26tts wi female just on 25 tts..good allrounders...all the best in your search mate..
  6. Only problem i have is a local wildlife liason officer who sometimes likes to act it a bit....ordinary beat coppers seem like they cant be arsed wi a guy walkin a dog.....
  7. Years ago, oooooft showing my age here, easy 20 lol, used to go out coursing with a guy who's dog would eat the f*****g hare!!! Soon as it was slipped, you had to run like f**k in the direction it was heading cos as soon as it was caught, it was eat lol.lol...i knew a guy who had a pure bred greyhound bitch that was quite adept at tearing apart anything it caught !!!!! Thing was nuts lolLol this f****r just devoured it. More than once it was slipped on a hare with a belly full of hare lol. Handy if you were poaching and got a pull, just chuck the hare to the dog in the back of the van joke lo

  9. totally agree....I've always taken a pup out with older dogs who know the game....I also read the thread in the terrier forum about your pups.....if I were you I would just stick to raising the patterdales first mate .....brothers from the same litter are gonna be a handful to say the least...get the terriers to a level were you fully know there tempraments working abilities etc then maybe think of purchasing a whippet/small type lurcher etc...just what I would do......good luck in your choice....
  10. Yeah this dog was pretty smart brain wise...but its the only time it ever made a noise lol....
  11. Prob because it knows its there mate but cant see it and its just infront of him going through cover and excitemment becomes too muchif he was in heavy cover an heard him it was a case of "get ready for it"lol...once it had forced the deer out into the open it would run silent...strange little quirk...literally lost count of the amount of deer this dog dropped....funny thing is it was bought for running rabbitts but once it wed to deer it just couldnt get enough an opened up a whole new world of sport for the owner who had never considered running deer..lol...a good dog though despite the odd
  12. Years ago i knew a dog that would run silent on rabbitt an fox always.....when it was put to deer in the open it ran silent...but when it hit cover with the deer it would let out the occasional bark !! Only in heavy cover with deer it done this...nothing else....but it was a great dog for gettin deer out of cover to....to answer original question on the thread...an occasional bark or yip wouldnt bother me as long as it didnt sing like a budgie eveytime it ran...
  13. Im sorry for your loss mate......chin up lad....
  14. thats sick how dog bredfirst X greyhound/john holmes !!
  15. he stole a plate of spaghetti bolognese lol.......
  16. The collie bit in my own dogs breeding came from a working welsh hill collie.....but I suppose your dumbest collie is problably smarter than the average pet dog....I get what you mean about worker to worker though......good point....
  17. Mine has collie on dams side of the breeding....workin welsh hill collie....but you can see it in him when he starts stalking something like a collie lol...also found him to be quite amenable to training when he was a pup.....unlike a saluki blooded dog I had years ago who would all of a sudden have a deafness attack !!!!!! Lol...my friend had a 3/4 bred years ago an it took anything he aimed it at.......but it could be quite possessive whith a catch concerning other dogs....good luck with whatever you choose.....
