  1. Not quite happy Gilmore but still managed to piss plenty of the golfing fraternity off with my unorthodox grip, the fact that I managed to get a £600 set of clubs for £50 off Ebay, brand new and unused, and that I only played once in a blue moon and still beat em!! you gotta love it. ps can't quite get the hang of using a shotgun yet and may have to yield and have a few lessons.
  2. I think you would get much better results if you didnt fix the rifle down mate. seriously needs to be able to recoil freely for accuracy. Must be my luck then because what I aim at I hit, when my son uses it same result, does not matter which position i'm in, was up an oak tree last week taking out bunnies, hit the spot every time, If recoiling is required when zeroing my method must inadvertently be allowing said recoil? Can't say I'm up on the laws of physics, left or right spring twist, haven't even seen the spring in my rifle! and as I say not as experienced as many a shooter, but
  3. Not very experienced shooter myself but when I need to zero my scope I strap my HW77 to something solid that won't move, take a couple of shots to make sure it's not moving and the pellets are all going in the same place, if like me your not into sorting your pellets then you get the odd flyer, once your happy with that then adjust the scope to suit. Distance is about 40 foot, once your used to your rifle and the pellet trajectory you'll know when to aim that bit higher or hold under. That's my ten penneth worth for what it's worth, I sure others will say i'm talking crap and it's different f
  4. Get a hob vasectomised, having checked out all the options it's definitely the way to go and what i'm looking to do, Jill jabs quoted today from 3 vets £40 - £50, one even wanted to charge £125 as they would have to by the vile of vaccine in as they don't stock it. Implants which last a few years are £50 a pop, and having them spade is about the same, one vet recommended having them spade and having the implants as well?? You can hire the services of a vasectomised hob but book early as they are few and far between and get totally booked up for the entire season. Remember that jills can come i
  5. apologise for piggybacking (probably the height of rudeness in forums?) but same needed in Kent
  6. enquired myself at the vets today, cost about £50
  7. Found out in hospital recovering from a 50/50 op. Have to be tested ever now and then, one night with a ipod size monitor strapped to my chest, two tubes up my nose and a pulse oximeter clipped to my finger. take it to the hospital the next day and they analyse the results. The bi pap machine has an SD card that you send off every month
  8. No worries, for future reference if you are quick on the draw Herrietsham ferret rescue near Maidstone have 2 vasectomised hobs but they're all booked up at the moment, Think i'll come back as a hob and if having the snip is the price you have to pay for sexual Nirvana then pass me the scissors!!
  9. feck me that would do my head in ..... yes seriously and yes it does do my head in, still trying to get used to it!! A true passion killer, the deluxe version
  10. two fit Jills WLTM vasectomised hob, in the Faversham Area of Kent, for no strings attached casual threesome, your place or mine. surely every hobs dream?
  11. I have to sleep wearing this baby, chronic sleep apnoea, stop breathing 68 times per hour when sleeping, so use this bi pap respirator
  12. Get yourself to a commercial fishery, plenty of bites plenty of fish and plenty of guys willing to give advice(in fact by the end of the day you'll be glad to get rid of 'em all) worse thing you could do is fish somewhere that's not gonna get the rod bending early on. Once you've honed your skills move on to more difficult venues. First thing you should buy before you consider the pros and cons of rods, reels and terminal gear is your rod license!! Don't forget it's the closed season at the mo' so commercial fisheries are probably the only place you can fish right now anyway
  13. course gear is usually not up for the job i.m afraid, if the tides running you'll need a hefty grapple weight and something with enough grunt to crank it up without the rod breaking. A Shakespeare multiplier and something like a Jarvis walker 10ft beach/pier rod will probably set you back about 50 notes for the pair or look on ebay for some second hand gear.
  14. ice cream and paraffin, why those two? because the man who used to sell, boom boom boom boom Esso blue, was also the same guy who did the ice cream round on the sunny afternoons and evenings, so your cone stunk of paraffin. Mind you if you got brain freeze you could always warm yourself up by setting fire to your cone!! Food hygiene didn't exist in them there days and it never effected me...much....diphallia, a blessing or a curse? lol
  15. Part of the problem is the minority of inconsiderate fields sports persons giving a bad name for everyone else. The fisherman who's tackle ends up hanging from the beak of a swan, dogs witnessed running on land they have no permission for, shot gun cartridge casings littering the fields and woods, just a few things all of which give ammo to those who wish to bad mouth field sports, even a small write up about illegal hunting activities in the local rag can easily wipe out years of good work from those promoting the ways of hunting. When you talk to someone and they genuinely show an interest i
  16. There's was a guy who was advertising in the Dover/ Deal area with kits ready for May, it was on preloved, Al Brown. Said the dad was a small working silver, he had 7 but don't know if he's any left? We had a family vote as to whether a couple of stinkers would become part of the menagerie, don't know why as I'm the only one who cleans them out!! I have a double tier hutch with a pipe connecting to an upright court made out of a wardrobe carcass with two levels and storage at the bottom, nothing fancy but the stinkers love it.
  17. had my two stinkers stolen from my father in laws last year, I was in hospital having an op so he was looking after them, problem is he lives on a housing estate where all the gardens overlook each other, they had just come into their prime as well which peed me off even more:(
  18. My hutch and court are all roofed with felt and I use a couple of cheap tarps in the summer as shades stretched out from the top and then roll them down at night if a frost is forecast. In the winter I do the same , stretch them out in the morning if rain is forecast, it's a cheap but effect way to keep them dry, only cost a couple of quid each at the market. Perspex would look the dogs but a tad expensive for my wallet as is the chicken coup cover, i'd keep an eye open at bootfairs for a cheap pushchair plastic cover and re-model it, but then I'm a cheapskate
  19. have the best of both worlds and go .20!! I've got a HW77 .20 and it has a nice flat trajectory but enough weight in the pellet to give good percussion and not just drill everything.
  20. friend of mines lab ate a disposable nappy, passed it later although she ended up having to pull half of it out of its butt, yuk She said she didn't even know it had eaten it in the first place!!
  21. Bought a double tier hutch from Facebay for a tenner, built a ferret court out of the carcase of an old wardrobe and used old picket fencing for the different levels, got the front mesh panelling for buckshee from freegle (woman even delivered it for free) got some old pipe from some roadworkers, just had to ask. Acquired some mineral felt from my brother in law (still yet to fit) and bought 7 quids worth of roofing batten from the local DIY shop to make the door frame, hinges and hasp and staple took the total spend to including the hutch to £20. Bag of JWB ferret food £30, didn't see that
  22. Three shots in the back garden told me the old girl was still pushing lead and the scope still zeroed. We set off for the shoot at about 5ish in the evening for a bit of bunny bashing, as we walked up the edge of what used to be an old railway line in the good old days of steam, we could see a few youngsters frolicking in the evening sunlight, sticking close to the edge I managed to get in range, shouldering the 77 and using my thumb stick as a front rest I could almost see myself tucking a fresh bunny in the game bag, but it was not meant to be, perhaps after not shooting the rifle for nearly
  23. could well do but then you pay more and don't get the value of buying in bulk, I've worked it out and to feed two ferrets JWB would actually cost more than my two dogs!! I can feed them pigeons and rabbit in the colder months when there are no flies about but will keep the JWB going until then.
  24. Is there anyone in the Canterbury area (I'm in Faversham) who would split a 10KG bag of James Wellebeloved ferret food with me as I don't think I could keep a full bag fresh before it could all get eaten, or for that matter afford the £30 for a full bag!! I've only just got two Jills about a year old and the owner couldn't remember the name of the food they were being fed, so I've shelled out 6 quid on a bag of ferret food they do just about eat but are not too keen on, should have done what I did today and buy 20p bags of all the food and find which one it is they eat!! cheers Bruce
  25. It's just finding the right button to push to get them interested, I have one son who started shooting as soon as he was strong enough to cock my hw77,now he's 21 and into rough shooting, the odd driven shoot and ferreting. My other son (19)has never been interested in shooting but now we have a spaniel in training he wanted to come for the first time, he's mot interested in firing the 12 bore,he gave it a go for the experience, but is well into the dog and now we've replaced the two ferrets we had pinched I've no doubt he'll be out rabbiting with the best of us when the season starts again.
