  1. plenty of knob ends on sticks around here, especially when they are due to renew their disability living allowance and mobility claims, the rest of the time they're like spring chickens walking all over the place not a stick, crutch or wheel chair in sight, who needs the miraculous properties of Lourdes when all you need is a letter of entitlement from the DWP and lo and behold you can suddenly put the sticks in storage for another couple of years and do 18 holes on your local golf course, cynical...you bet, but when you've worked all you life, paid your dues and over the last four years been
  2. Boot fairs if you have the time, cheapest by far but takes some searching, ghost camo netting for a fiver, Barbour fleece £2.50, brand new Barbour wax hat £3.50, army surplus trousers and jackets I never pay more than a couple of quid for, normally 50p a throw, got to get in there early though to beat all the Eastern Europeans!!
  3. Sainsbury's, the higher prices mean I don't have to rub shoulders with the riff raff I wish!! Morrison's all the way or if doing a big shop it's worth popping out of town to Asda
  4. pet insurance is like any other in my experience, they try and get out of paying out on claims by whatever means possible I had a Spaniel and terrier both knocked down and killed together on a major roadway, let out of the garden by so called friends, the police moved them out of the road and gave me a call, I collected and buried them in the garden, tried to claim on their pet insurance and they would not pay out as I had not got them certified dead by a vet, wouldn't even except a signed letter from the two coppers who found them dead on the roadway. Didn't insure my dogs for a while af
  5. I have used an Okuma bait caster with a salt bass rod for spinning off the rocks but in the end preferred to use my Daiwa Regal freshwater reel, with the bait caster I couldn't seem to get the accuracy and control needed for fishing in tight situations, probably needed more practice although I regularly use Abu 6500s for beachcasting.
  6. The problem is that even though you have got rid of the PUP it has residual programs left on your computer these need to be got rid of aswell. http://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-delta-search/ shows you how. indeed your right, should have made this a little clearer but the residuals are easier to remove and can usually be removed without having to go into safe mode or as an administrator, trouble with most of the instructions on how to remove advice is that it does not include instructions if the program throws up a "you do not have access, please contact system administrator" or the
  7. Got delta search toolbar on your internet browser and can't get rid? Tried to uninstall it via the uninstall program in the control panel and been told you don't have the admin access to do this? Easiest way to get rid is open your PC in "SAFE MODE" then open the control panel, uninstall program, click on delta search and uninstall, shut down computer, check the control panel once again and low and behold it's gone. if your not sure how to open your PC in safe mode, turn off your PC with the power button, turn it on again and it will have a screen offering the option of opening in safe mode, n
  8. yep was well of range of my Remington 1100 skeet that's why I'm looking for a multi-choked barrel !! was a great shot though and no bull it was that distance. As for a shot I will always remember, it was good but not as memorable as our first beaters day, I actually flushed the bird which 03milesR shot for best bird of the day, and I don't let him forget it
  9. only thing missing is a white chalk line and how cheap is that, it's not even Heinz!!
  10. Army Trousers, the type with the built in braces, wax leggings and a pair of Wyre Valley neoprene boots, this set up out lasted many a branded option worn by other beaters last season, when the ground was dry Magnum boots with army gaiters, bought them all second hand / boot fairs apart from Wellies, total price £4 for 3 pairs of Dickies wax leggings BNWT, £8 magnums,£4 trousers, £4 gaiters, £50 wellies, throw in second hand wax jacket for £4 and I'm set up for the season.
  11. when it comes to justifying a price and equating it to so much per day your right it is good value, but then bring it back to the real world and suddenly it's a weeks wages in one foul swoop and all of a sudden it becomes for many unattainable, I'm off long term sick and I can't afford the fee as it is now!! I can already hear the mumblings well if you can't afford to pay for a certificate how do you intend to pay for cartridges and a shotgun, friends will always stand you for the odd day here and there but I draw the line at asking friends to pay for my certificate. I think keeping the fee lo
  12. Quality Hazel cane with a carved horn handle, in the image of a hare and prominent makers insignia, a quality piece of English craftsmanship total length from apex of handle to tip of ferrule is just over 50" £165.00 ovno
  13. I'm putting a tentative toe in the water enquiring about a multichoke barrel for my old Remington 1100 semi auto, outwardly it doesn't need to be in perfect condition, more so the price or swap ability for something else. At the moment just have a fixed skeet barrel and looking to make the gun more adaptable. I'm definitely not minted, off work long term sick (not living on benefits either) so don't scare me!! cheers Bruce
  14. put a hob over my jills, once each in the evening then again in the morning, that's all it took, both fixed, no damage done.
  15. Try contacting some of the local shoots and offering your services as a beater, if your near any farms try offering cleaning up a round the yard on a Saturday for a bit of shooting permission, join the BASC as a junior and that'll give you a little credibility and that your taking it seriously, also see if you can get yourself an old boy as a shooting buddy and to show you the ropes. A bit of hard graft should get you there, expect to be turned down a lot , your age is against you a little but keep trying, good luck Bruce
  16. thanks for that Pat, are you in the Kent region by any chance? Anyone's always welcome to come round for a chin wag, cuppa and a sarnie, off work long term sick at the mo so the companies welcome.
  17. We all have to learn from somewhere. And from what I've learnt is that trail and error is the best way. I've read a million books, threads, forums and watched enough videos on pigeon decoying to last me a life time, yet as soon as I got out in the field I had no idea. And yes I think about financially thoughts about getting a pet is a good idea, but if someone offered you something for free and then another asked you to pay. What would you do? Like he says, there's plenty enough people we know through family and friends that would happily take the kits from us, but they sure as hell wouldn

  19. my staffy chases my petrol mower, he managed to actually catch it yesterday, he's six inches shorter now, I'm contacting to Oscar Pistorious to ask if he's got any legs going spare, Staffy may look funny in em but fook me he'll be fast!! mind you think I'll keep him away from the gun cabinet
  20. want to fill the freezer before then, otherwise it's spending out on dried food and that's expensive gear!!
  21. rabbits by the shed load down in sunny Kent, was out doing some flight lining for pigeons when my son spotted a few down the end of an old railway embankment (abandoned long ago in the age of steam) lined up on the closest and bang, when he walked up to collect he'd actually caught 4 in the shot pattern, some youngsters but gratefully received by the ferrets and a pat on the back from the farmer.
  22. twist in the stick comes from being strangled by a vine or something similar, got my eye few that should be nice for the next couple of years, that is if someone doesn't beat me to em. As for shooting I find they have to be a bit longer than your average thumb stick, as already stated alright for shooting downward but a strange stance has to be adopted in other situations. Nice stick though, almost to good to use!!
  23. Also beware of the dreaded Microsoft automatic update, most of you will have had your browser IE9 updated to IE10 which is not compatible with some websites, it's worth downloading another browser like Chrome or firefox so you can check if your having problems if it's your original browser just not liking the page your trying to view. Also worth downloading CC cleaner (free) and run it every week or so
