Thank for the advice everyone, Been doing a bit of reading, and seems the stuff to get is oxalis acid which could get it back to how it was before I tried to stain it. If that doesn't work then I am screwed will try and get some pictures up. Thanks all Stevie

Hello, Got a darker one to try, but doing the same thing, it dries on the surface then wipes off Cheers

Hello The stock was done with 0000 steel wool, but I did notice it was as smooth as glass before I tried to stain it, let it dry over night. Maybe I have over sanded as I was up to 800 grit, but the stock didn't even darken at all. Loads of head scratching going on!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers.

Hello I decided to refinish my beech stock. Everything has gone great. Stripped the factory finish off, sanded down through all the grits, the stock is now lovely and smooth. I got some Liberon water based walnut stain. I applied the stain per instructions, but for some reason the wood is not absorbing the stain, the stock has gone from very pale to a light dirty brown colour. I tried a second coat the next night, and let it dry over night, same thing again wiped off with a damp cloth. Any help would be greatly appreciated Stevie.

Hello John, That's a cracking stock mate, that's just the colour I am looking for!!! Was it hard to do mate. Cheers -
Hello, For sale is my UTG 3x9x40 IR SCOPE. 3 inch sunshade It is in very good condition, with only a few tiny Scratches. Perfect working order. I will be honest in saying that the turrets adjustment is not as good as a hawke or the like. The only thing different is the cap that covers the Battery for the IR is a hawke one. The UTG one was stolen! Comes with sportsmatch ht07c mounts £35 posted uk mainland. Cheers. Stevie.

Bsa Ultra Regulator, Is It Worth It?
Stevie76 replied to lewis collins's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hello mate, I have a XTX regged ultra .22, I get 75 full power shots from mine. Shot count for me was an added bonus, but having no power curve and running at a constant 11.4 - 11.5 is bliss Don't get me wrong, it's not cheap but WELL WORTH IT. Darrin at XTX did a grand job. A.T.B stevie -

Roger, I would be trying to get a nice dark earthy brown. I have read on the tinternet that beech doesn't take a dark stain very well, and seems to end up that orangy/brown which is what I am trying to avoid! Cheers. Stevie.
