  1. i think you will find mr tony dent reigned supreme in most of the mentioned above. Not always matey, i think you will find there were a few new kids on the block that were equally as good as what had gone before.. "equally" i doubt it very much maybe there was some nem kids on the block but i doubt if they would of lived upto the likes of skylark majestiic ulra vixen bella gossi or whats behind the mask, but the ban came in and the new kids will never now,as for the old school we can only dream of having a kennel half as good,

  5. if you measure your pup at 16 weeks and it is 16 inches or less it normally makes the 20 inch coursing height
  6. thats them, all top class dogs, but was it just down to the breeding? or as BBB say s there top class training, feeding ect,a good trainer can make alot of difference,to peak a dog at the right time takes skill.did all the dogs in these coursingmeetings recieve the same training, some were most likely pets that got a run now and again ,not a chance against a properly trained dog,or a combination of both?BB the breeding as alot to do with it,but all the other factors as alot to do with it,peaking a dog for one meeting is easy but to do it week in week out is the difficult bit, these dogs did it
  7. You really should learn a little about in/linebreeding before coming out with such a statement......there are sporting breeds that have dogs going back up to 20 times back to a certain good dog in its ped.....and there is simply no way these dogs would survive the sporting tests put on them if there was anything wrong with them......8 times back to a dog 5 generations back in the ped would be considered quite loose line breeding.....8 times back to a dog 3 generations back would be quite tight inbreeding.....do you even know how many gens back the dog thats been linebred on was ? Not to be re
  8. i cant beleive some people and there remarks regarding line breeding or in breeding call it what you like it has certainly worked well enough in this litter,so long as you go out next time there shoudnt be any problems.she is the complete package a true all rounder[still to be tested on things that bite back]she isnt a fen dog by any stretch of the imagnation but she can run all day on the arse of them, and she can retreive a few and she catches rabbits with ease, her nose is second to none and her temperament is first class so heres to line breeding or in breeding.darren

  15. What a load of Bo****ks. have you ever owned a whippet???? well said Mally. having coursed with the EAWCC & VRWCC they definatly get more than 60yds well they do if they are well fed well looked after & fit. i've run lure coursing meetings for 10 years now (under the name of the Northwest LCC) with distances upto 800yds dogs sometimes having to run this 5 times to win the final these are testing courses not the 150yds 3 gate things often run at game fairs for the lurchers. anyone doubting a whippets ability get yourself out with a decent whippet and i think yo
