  1. Would reckon that the majoirty of non FAC air rifles would be more than capable of despatching bunnies if the trigger man is up to the job, it only takes 4.5lb I'd be a bit careful of the (new) cheaper ones, I had a Crosman Quest (£149 inc. scope) that was chrono'd at a consistent 14.4lb. Got myself an HW95K now (rifle only £275) that chrono's at 11.4 and is a MUCH nicer rifle in every way.
  2. Forums have to be mod-rule, as it was put. . . someone has to run the place. That's a bit harsh. . . There's people here, not 'established', unknown by pretty much anyone who are genuine and not out for a cyber-ruck (and don't own Corsas )
  3. The Kurukshetra War. . . would be a bit of an issue with the dates though. . . in the region of 5 - 7000 years ago. . .
  4. What happened to your 'good bloke' vet in the family? Only time this has happened to one of mine is when I'd not road-walked them much for a while and I'd flirted them on dry ground. I put it down to soft pads, the flappy skin dried up and I cut it off and I got back to some road walking.
  5. I wouldn't be consulting a vet about canine nutrition. . . . the majority seem to be worse than useless. Very strange, You wouldnt consult a vet, yet you would ask for peoples adive on here, Not quite sure why you'd reply twice to the same post but hey. . And could you highlight where, exactly, I've asked for nutritional advice on here?
  6. She looks the tits in the 2nd pic!!! Very nice!!! Glad she's coming good for you too
  7. I'm sure he is a decent bloke. . . if there is any real evidence that cooking a rabbit prior to feeding is better than raw, I'd like to see it. Feeding raw is not about how easy it is, it's a bit of a shame you feel that way.

  9. Neither have I but, since overworming is not much of an issue, do it as often as makes you happy
  10. We feed them fresh or frozen but always raw. And they get everything. Never had a problem with wormy dogs. Not convinced feeding the fur is any more risky than feeding the bones and it has the added advantage of acting as a natural wormer. But would you want a dog expected to bring bunnies back in the field to be eating the fur (none of my current dogs hunt)?
  11. Please accept my deepest sympathy.
  12. Cancelled due to the weather forecast being a bit too grim.
  13. We used to get better results if I sent Kirsty in. It does pay to be a customer first though, even if it's just a few sausages and some eggs once a week (or so)
  14. Oh. . something else to remember that it's (roughly) 2% AVERAGE. . .work it out over a week or so. If your dog's ideal amount is 1lb per day, it's fine to feed more on day 1, less on day2 etc. etc.
  15. There's a load of horse slaughterhouses not far this side of the QE2 bridge. . see if one of them are open to the idea of selling you their crap. Or chat up your local slaughterhouse. We found butchers where we used to live very unhelpful, some even refused to sell us stuff because they knew it was for the dogs.
  16. Too simple for some people to have a hope of getting it, it seems. . All too often we see people making it overly complicated, treating a simple diet like a complicated science. The hardest part, for us, was getting (economical) suppliers of a variety of foods. A friendly local abbatoir is an absolute godsend.
  17. Wouldn't overdo the veg, if you do feed it make sure it's pureed (dogs cannot digest cellulose). The guide for feeding is 2% of the dogs ideal weight (this changes in very young dogs) so a 55lb dog would eat approx. 1.1lb of food a day. If the dog gets fat, cut it down. If it gets lean, feed it more. Chicken is ok as an initial protein source but a greater variety would be much better.
  18. Left it a bit late but if anyone wants to come along. . . .
  19. Think they scrapped the minimum order thing as long as they are delivering in the area or something. Worst way you may have to meet with the driver if he doesn't currently drop in your vicinity
  20. For about aq year they were doing 35-40miles a week up until a couple of months ago. That was Mon-Fri, up to 2 hours a day, rest (from roadwork) at weekends. I'm as sure as I can be that the pads have softened due to laying off the roadwork for a while..
  21. Reckon it'd only be a coupla miles of gentle stuff for a while anyway... it's been about 10 years since I last rode Does he use a springer or similar?
  22. I'd do this just for the bunnies in the freezer. Sounds like decent money to be made, fair play to you guys

    Rook food?

Put the time in and they should tame down very nicely (if that's what you want).. can also be taught to speak afaik (we had a talking crow many years ago, and I know starlings and magpies can mimic) They are omnivorous and will also take carrion (might be easiest to feed insects, worms etc. while they're young)...
